Dolly Parton’s late husband’s will and what he left her revealed amid health-scare rumors

Following concerns about Dolly Parton’s health, details of her late husband Carl Dean’s will have recently come to light.

A little more than a year after her husband passed away at age 82, news emerged that he had left his entire fortune to the country music star.

Recently revealed documents obtained by Us Weekly show the will was first signed in 2013 and detailed how his personal belongings – including items related to his wife’s famous music career – would be handled.

The items included but were not limited to costumes, photos, cars and other paraphernalia.

Dean’s will also stated that he might have left a handwritten note detailing who should receive his personal belongings after his death.

Oh my gosh, if they *don’t* find that note, Dolly – sweet, amazing Dolly, who’s 79, can you believe it?! – will have to handle dividing up everything herself! And get this – she’s even asked to be in charge of managing his entire estate. Can you imagine? She wants to make sure everything is just *perfect*, and she’ll do it all herself if she has to! It’s so her, honestly.

Parton and her late husband’s love story is a decades-spanning one, that dates back to the 60s.

Oh my gosh, I’ve read everything about how they first met! It was 1964 in Nashville, and he was just starting out, totally new in town. Apparently, it happened right outside a laundromat! Can you imagine? That’s where it all began! It’s just… magical to think about!

Just two years after meeting, they tied the knot.

They later renewed their vows for their 50th wedding anniversary in 2016.

The famous singer often talked about her romance, sharing that her husband was her greatest supporter, even though he preferred to stay out of the public eye.

The details of Dean’s will are now public, following a recent social media update from the singer addressing worries about her health that fans have been discussing.

She recently shared a video to address confusion about her health, following the cancellation of some of her scheduled events.

She filmed a video on Wednesday, appearing in front of a green screen.

In the clip, she spoke directly to her fans.

She started by saying, “Let me tell you something. Today is October 8th, and I’m here filming commercials for the Grand Ole Opry, which explains my Western-style outfit.”

Before I begin, I want to address something. I’ve noticed people seem to think I’m much sicker than I actually am. Honestly, do I *look* sick? I’m putting in a lot of effort and working hard, despite what anyone might think.

Dolly continued, saying she wanted to reassure everyone who was worried, and she was grateful for their concern and prayers. As a person of faith, she always welcomes and appreciates support through prayer, for any situation.

She continued: ‘But I want you to know that I’m okay. I’ve got some problems as I’ve mentioned.’

She explained that she’d been receiving occasional treatments because she hadn’t prioritized her own health after her husband, a businessman, passed away.

‘Back when my husband Carl was very sick…that was for a long time and then when he passed, I didn’t take care of myself so I let a lot of things go that I should have been taking care of,’ she explained.

Eventually, I saw the doctors, and they said I needed to address a couple of health issues. It wasn’t anything serious, but I did have to reschedule some things and stay near home, close to Vanderbilt, where I’m getting treated. I just wanted to let you know I’m doing okay and not seriously ill.

Okay, so she said she saw this… this *thing*. Like, a seriously messed-up picture that just completely freaked her out. She said it made her desperate to squash all the gossip, like she *had* to set the record straight after seeing it. It was clearly awful, and she just needed everyone to know the truth!

Have you seen that AI-generated picture of Reba and me? It’s wild! It showed Reba at my bedside as if I were on my deathbed, and honestly, we both looked like we needed to be buried! It made me laugh, because if I were actually dying, I’m not sure Reba would be the person I’d want there.

She said she might arrive sooner, but then continued, “There are a lot of rumors going around, and I wanted you to hear from me directly so you’d know I’m alright.”

That’s everything I wanted to share. I’m not ready to give up on life – I believe God still has a purpose for me, and I still have work to do. Thank you for your love and support, and please continue to pray for me.

This post follows a Facebook update from Dolly Parton’s sister, Freida, who asked for prayers for the singer due to recent health issues.

Following the attention her previous post received, Freida followed up to reassure people about her sister, explaining that she hadn’t intended to worry anyone or suggest the situation was as bad as it seemed.

She explained that her older sister had been feeling ‘a little under the weather.’

Dolly Parton had to cancel her December show in Las Vegas, following a previous cancellation of an appearance at her Dollywood theme park in September.
