10 Marvel Teams the MCU Should Introduce After the Fantastic Four’s Debut

Fans had been waiting a long time for Marvel Comics’ original superhero family to officially join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, finally happening with the 2025 release. These characters – Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and The Thing – hadn’t been seen in the shared universe for years, and previous attempts to bring them to the big screen hadn’t gone well. Plus, the franchise hadn’t featured many superhero teams up to that point.

We’ve already seen teams like the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, Defenders, Runaways, and Eternals in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Another team was introduced shortly before the release of *The Fantastic Four: First Steps*. Plus, fans are anticipating the official introduction of the X-Men, which seems to be planned for *Avengers: Doomsday*. Still, all of these teams feel small compared to the many other Marvel superhero groups that haven’t yet appeared in the MCU.

It Is About Time Alpha Flight Comes To The MCU

Alpha Flight is a team of Canadian superheroes created by comic book professionals John Byrne and Chris Claremont. They first appeared in Marvel Comics’ *The Uncanny X-Men* #121 in May 1979. The original team – Guardian, Aurora, Northstar, Sasquatch, Shaman, and Snowbird – functions as Canada’s version of the Avengers.

For years, fans have wondered when Alpha Flight will appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Recent speculation, even as late as 2025, suggested they might show up in *Avengers: Doomsday*. If not that film, many believe their introduction should tie into the X-Men, given Alpha Flight’s connection to Wolverine’s backstory.

It Would Be Fun To Bring The Original Defenders Together

Many Marvel fans remember The Defenders as the team-up of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. These characters did star in a Marvel comic book series by Brian Michael Bendis, but it was initially created to connect with a special event that started on Netflix and is now available on Disney+.

Despite numerous iterations, the original team from the early 1970s – Doctor Strange, Hulk, Namor, and Silver Surfer – are all now part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It would be exciting to see them reunited to face a strange and powerful supernatural danger, just like they did in their original stories.

The Champions Could Headline A Fun Coming-Of-Age Story

Okay, so “The Champions” is a superhero team from Marvel comics – they first showed up way back in 1975 with guys like Angel, Black Widow, Ghost Rider, Hercules, and Iceman. But honestly, the *newest* version of the team feels like it’s perfectly set up for a big appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe right now. I’m really hoping they go this route!

In 2016, Kamala Khan, also known as Ms. Marvel, played a key role in forming a new team called the Champions. This team mainly consists of young heroes like herself, including Riri Williams (Ironheart) and Joaquin Torres, who took over as Falcon after Sam Wilson. To fully introduce the team in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, characters like Miles Morales and Nova would also need to appear, unless Kamala is planning to recruit Kate Bishop into the Champions.

A-Force Deserves A Proper Cinematic Iteration

As a huge Marvel fan, one of my favorite moments in *Avengers: Endgame* was seeing all the female heroes – Captain Marvel, Scarlet Witch, and so many others – fighting Thanos’ army side-by-side. It instantly reminded me of A-Force, which is this awesome all-female superhero team from the Marvel comics! It was so cool to see that comic book energy come to life on screen.

Currently, this small Easter Egg is the only clue that an A-Force team might appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is a shame considering how many strong female characters have been featured in the franchise. It would be exciting to see a movie or series starring characters like She-Hulk, the current Black Panther Shuri, and others, finally giving the team the attention it deserves.

The Midnight Sons Should Headline A Horror Movie

Marvel Studios has been trying for years to reboot Blade, but hasn’t succeeded yet. This is frustrating for fans eager to see Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali in the role. If the reboot had been released as planned, Marvel might have been on track to introduce a team of supernatural heroes known as the Midnight Sons.

I’m really excited about the possibility of Marvel introducing the Midnight Sons! It’s this awesome team-up of supernatural heroes – think Ghost Rider, Moon Knight, Doctor Strange, and more. With Marvel leaning into darker, more horror-focused comics lately, it feels like a full-blown Midnight Sons horror movie could actually happen, if they can get all the right characters together. I’m keeping my fingers crossed!

The Howling Commandos Should Lead A Spooky Period Piece

If Marvel Studios is looking to assemble a team of supernatural heroes for a spooky movie, the Howling Commandos would be a fantastic choice. This isn’t the original Howling Commandos from World War II – the one led by Nick Fury – but a newer version featuring monstrous characters like Frankenstein’s Monster and Simon Garth, also known as “Zombie,” who battle terrifying enemies.

Following up the popular Disney+ Halloween special, *Werewolf by Night*, with a Howling Commandos series would be a great move for the MCU. The special introduced characters like the werewolf Jack Russell, monster hunter Elsa Bloodstone, and the creature Man-Thing. However, the Howling Commandos are somewhat similar to the Creature Commandos, who recently launched James Gunn’s DC Universe with an animated series on HBO Max, which could potentially hinder the project.

The Real Elementals Deserve A Chance To Shine

Some fans believe we first saw the Elementals in the 2019 film *Spider-Man: Far From Home*. However, those creatures were actually just convincing digital illusions created by Quentin Beck (Jake Gyllenhaal) to trick Peter Parker (Tom Holland).

The Elementals are a team of four incredibly powerful, virtually immortal beings from other dimensions. They each control a different element: Hellfire commands fire, Hydron controls water, Magnum manipulates earth, and Zephyr governs wind. It would be exciting to see them demonstrate their powers, maybe even in a Spider-Man story where he realizes a past enemy wasn’t what he seemed.

Nail Could Lead A Cool Kung Fu Movie

The fight scenes in shows and movies like *Iron Fist* and *Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings* are among the most impressive in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, thanks to their use of authentic kung fu. The franchise would benefit from more action like this, and one particular team could deliver it spectacularly.

Nail is a group of five highly skilled female ninjas originally employed by the criminal organization The Hand. Later, Azumi Ozawa took control of the team. A familiar face among them is Colleen Wing, a popular character from the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Netflix shows, portrayed by Jessica Henwick, and bringing her back in this way would be exciting.

The Miracleman Family Could Be The MCU’s Next Great Family Unit

The new movie, *The Fantastic Four: First Steps*, shows again that superhero stories are most compelling when they focus on family. This makes us wonder which superhero family Marvel will introduce into the Marvel Cinematic Universe next.

The Miracleman Family would be a great addition. It’s based on Miracleman, a superhero first published in Britain during the Silver Age of comics, similar to Superman. He originally appeared in Eclipse Comics before Marvel Comics acquired the rights in 2014. The ‘family’ consists of three orphans who gain superpowers and become Miracleman, Kid Miracleman, and Young Miracleman.

Marvel Should Throw The Mutts A Bone

The 2022 animated film DC League of Super-Pets was a major success for DC. This is likely because people love pets! Marvel could also benefit from this popularity by creating stories that feature the beloved animals of their heroes.

This idea builds on the comic book series *Marvel Mutts*, which features a team of super-powered dogs. The team is led by Cosmo, a dog who’s already in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and voiced by Maria Bakalova in *Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3*. Because James Gunn was involved with that film, he’s already started building the foundation for what could be the most adorable MCU story yet.
