Sinead Skinner is speaking out about the difficult last few weeks following the revelation of her husband Thomas’s affair. She describes the period as ‘horrendous’.
The 34-year-old reality TV star confessed to being unfaithful to his wife, Sinead, with the owner of a beauty clinic, Amy-Lucy O’Rourke. He said this happened just weeks after their wedding during a brief lapse in judgment that nearly cost him everything.
Thomas, the first celebrity eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing, shares a five-year-old son named Henry and two-year-old twin daughters, Roma and Darla, with his wife, Sinead. The couple got married in May 2022.
Tom and Sinead found it tough revisiting old memories, as their time on ‘Strictly’ was largely forgotten due to the controversy surrounding their affair.
Okay, so I’m hearing from Sinead that she and her husband went through a really tough time with infidelity, and it completely rocked their world. But, and this is the amazing part, she believes navigating that crisis actually made their relationship *stronger*. It’s a testament to working through things and coming out on the other side, you know? It’s a reminder that even the hardest challenges can lead to growth if you’re willing to put in the effort.
Sinead explained to The Sun that she immediately asked the person to leave when she found out what had happened. She was heartbroken and said she’ll never forget hearing the news from Thomas. At the time, she couldn’t believe it was happening to her.
That day was incredibly difficult for me. I only confided in one friend, but thankfully, we were able to resolve things. I realized how deeply I cared for him and was determined to make our relationship work.
He went through a really difficult period after losing a friend four years ago. While things are much better now – we’re stronger and have even welcomed twin daughters – it all resurfaced when he joined Strictly Come Dancing. It’s been incredibly challenging ever since.
Seeing Thomas on Strictly Come Dancing brought up a lot of painful memories. It was really upsetting – the fact that everyone knew about a tough time in our lives from almost four years ago was awful. We thought we had moved past it, but this brought it all back.
Oh my gosh, it’s just awful! I heard Sinead talking about the truly horrendous death threats Tom’s been getting ever since he started on Strictly. It’s just so upsetting – can you believe people are saying those things to him? He’s amazing, and it breaks my heart to think anyone would threaten him like that just for dancing! I’m seriously worried about him.
Tom shared that he’s received around 200 death threats and experienced abuse after being on the BBC show.
He received criticism on social media after photos surfaced of him at a barbeque hosted by JD Vance, a close ally of former US President Donald Trump. He later described the event as a rare and special occasion.
Thomas faced backlash for comments on X where he defended expressions of national pride, stating it wasn’t ‘far-right’ to ‘fly your flag and love your country.’ He also expressed concerns about safety in London, describing the city as ‘hostile’ and ‘tense.’
Following his first appearance on Strictly Come Dancing, Thomas took to X (formerly Twitter) to defend himself. He stated he wouldn’t be ‘cancelled’ and insisted his marriage is solid, despite recently admitting to infidelity just weeks after getting married in 2022.
He posted a long and emotional message, stating that he was under attack but becoming more resilient as a result.
He admitted life has been tough lately, saying he’s faced criticism and made mistakes. Things really took off, though, after he received an invitation to a BBQ with JD Vance.
I’m being targeted by a lot of negativity online, mostly from anonymous accounts who are being aggressive and falsely accusing me of things. They’re also unnecessarily turning everything into a political issue.
It’s ironic that people are upset about me being on Strictly Come Dancing, especially since many of them have ‘be kind’ written in their social media profiles. It’s just unbelievable!
Thomas, a businessman from Essex who became well-known after being on Lord Sugar’s show, The Apprentice, explained that his dedication to hard work helped him overlook the negative attention and simply focus on working hard.
He stated firmly that he wouldn’t be defeated by criticism or negativity. He made it clear he wasn’t going to give up or harm himself, despite what some people might want. He emphasized that he was resilient and stronger than others perceived, and that every negative comment, falsehood, or attack actually made him more powerful.
I started with absolutely nothing and built everything myself. For years, I slept on a sofa bed on the floor because I didn’t have a proper bedroom. There’s a lot of false information about my background on Wikipedia, but they can’t diminish what I’ve achieved through hard work and determination. People call me dishonest, but I consistently work tirelessly, day in and day out.
Thomas admitted to Katie Hind at the Daily Mail that the reports of his affair have been incredibly difficult for his wife, and he finally confessed to the infidelity.
