After earning $957 million worldwide, a sequel to the film was officially announced on Thursday, October 9th, through a post on X (formerly Twitter). The post simply stated, “Building terrain. See you in theaters July 23 2027.”

Jared Hess, the director, will not only be directing the new film but also co-writing the script with Chris Galletta, according to Variety. Jason Momoa is confirmed as a producer, suggesting he’ll also likely be appearing in the movie.
