Peter Kay shared that he unintentionally caused significant damage, costing thousands of pounds, to Eric Clapton’s luxurious vacation house.
The 52-year-old comedian and the 80-year-old legendary guitarist became friends after they met behind the scenes at a concert.
As Eric and Peter became close friends, Eric offered to host Peter and his family at his large, beautiful home in Provence, which had sixteen bedrooms and a pool.
Peter didn’t like how cold the pool was, so he went to the store and bought a small paddling pool. He set it up on Eric’s patio, filled it with warm water, and enjoyed that instead.
Oh my god, it actually *worked*! Peter was able to finally relax in the warm water, and he was living his best life – seriously, picturing him sipping Baileys while watching ‘Only Fools and Horses’ on a huge screen visible through the French doors? It was *perfect*. I’m so happy I could make that happen for him!
Unfortunately, things quickly went wrong. When he emptied the pool, he discovered the Versace towels he’d placed underneath had stained the sandstone patio with their color.

Peter explained to The Sun that he got some kitchen scrubbers and dish soap, and they all tried cleaning, but nothing seemed to be working.
I quickly went back to the supermarket and bought steel-wire brushes, strong floor cleaner, and a rake.
To top it all off, he mistakenly flooded the housekeeper’s flower beds when he drained the pool.
In his new book, comedian Peter Kay shared that he called Eric to offer to replace his plants and cover the cost of getting the patio cleaned.
The singer Layla was confused by the situation, particularly why Peter hadn’t simply used the pool.
Peter remembered him saying, “But why didn’t you just turn on the pool heater? It *has* heating! No one told me about it.”
Peter recently had emergency surgery to remove a large kidney stone. A stent was placed during the procedure, but it caused significant injury to his urethra.
Let me tell you, I just finished reading a new book by a comedian, and it was incredibly moving. He opens up about a really frightening health issue he faced, and he described finding out what the operation would involve as completely devastating – he said it felt like his whole world fell apart. It’s a really honest and vulnerable look at a difficult time.

In his book, Peter described a health issue he first experienced several years ago. He wrote that the pain started suddenly while he was traveling by train to Wigan, forcing him to quickly go to the restroom.
Two days later, he developed a severe, throbbing pain in his lower back. After searching online for his symptoms, he suspected he might have a kidney stone.
Just 24 hours later, a CT scan at the hospital proved my worries were right. I had a large kidney stone blocking the drainage in my right kidney.
The urologist told me I needed immediate surgery to remove the kidney stone. He explained they’d also need to place a stent to help my kidney continue functioning, and honestly, I was completely shocked and upset.
My blood tests before the operation confirmed what the doctor suspected: my kidneys weren’t working properly. The nurse explained it gently, but I actually felt a sense of relief and validation. Finally, there was a real medical reason for how I was feeling, and it wasn’t just in my head.
Kidney stone pain is famously severe, and I was beginning to cry and even let out some whimpering noises – it felt as awful as being shot in a very sensitive area.
Peter learned the surgery would use a tiny camera with a laser to break up the kidney stone inside his body.
The actor was shocked to discover the camera crew planned to film from an unexpected location inside his body.

Then it suddenly dawned on him, with a shocking realization: the other person was referring to entering through an opening at the end of his penis.
I was completely shocked. A wave of alarm washed over me as I realized he was trying to go into a restricted area – private land, like Area 51. It was impossible; there wasn’t even room for a camera, much less one with a laser attached. I seriously wondered if he was thinking clearly.
Peter admitted he was embarrassed about the operation, but it went forward as planned. In a surprising moment, his anesthesiologist even asked for a selfie with him right before he was given anesthesia.
Following the stone removal, Peter experienced pain during bathroom trips for about a week. He then went back to the hospital to have the stent taken out using the same opening that was used for the initial camera procedure.
After the stone was taken out, Kay experienced significant pain for a week whenever he used the restroom. He eventually had to go back to the hospital to have the stent removed, using the same opening that was used for the initial camera procedure.
Peter explained that the urologist assured him he wouldn’t need any pain medication, describing the procedure as easy. Peter jokingly added that he wondered what kind of parks the doctor was used to, since it didn’t seem easy at all.
Okay, so the urologist told me to just take deep breaths, which, honestly, didn’t help much when he suddenly grabbed… well, you know. It wasn’t a gentle touch, either! He squeezed it, and I swear, my eyes practically popped out of my head – it felt like something out of a cartoon! I’ll never forget that feeling, it was so intense and unexpected. I keep replaying it in my mind, trying to understand what just happened!
‘It was painful and unpleasant and a dreadful experience I never wish to repeat. Ever!’
More than 10% of people experience kidney stones, typically between the ages of 30 and 60. These stones form when waste in the blood turns into crystals, which gradually build up over time into hard lumps.
After a kidney stone develops, your body attempts to eliminate it through urination. Luckily, most stones are small enough to pass on their own and can be treated comfortably at home.
If these growths become very large, they can cause significant pain, often requiring surgical removal.
