Family Matters star Darius McCrary arrested near US-Mexico border on felony warrant

One of the stars of the beloved sitcom Family Matters has found himself in serious legal trouble.

Darius McCrary, famous for his role as Eddie Winslow on the popular TV show that aired from 1989 to 1998 with Jaleel White, Reginald VelJohnson, and Jo Marie Payton, was arrested in California close to the border with Mexico. He is currently being held in jail in San Diego, according to TMZ.

U.S. Border Patrol arrested the 48-year-old on Sunday. Records show the arrest was related to a felony charge from another state, meaning they were wanted as a fugitive.

According to reports, the section of the California Penal Code involved in this case usually covers people who are wanted in another state for a major crime.

Daily Mail has reached out to McCrary’s reps for comment.

What exactly happened is still unknown, but this isn’t the first time McCrary has been in trouble with the law.

The actor was previously arrested in 2015 and again in 2023 for failing to pay child support.

Former judge Bill McCrary is facing legal problems related to his difficult divorce from Tammy Brawner, which concluded in 2019 after a two-year legal fight.

As part of their divorce agreement, the actor was ordered to pay $1,366 per month in child support.
