Miranda Moyer, the narrative lead for Overwatch 2, announced in a video that Season 19’s mid-season update will include a new way to experience the game’s story. This feature will collect all of the Overwatch franchise’s narrative content – like short stories, motion comics, and videos – offering a more engaging experience for players interested in the game’s lore.
Hello everyone! As you may know, Season 19 has a lot of exciting updates coming. I’m here to share that we’re finally adding a new feature many of you have been asking for – a way to experience Overwatch’s story and lore directly within the game. You’ll be able to access this later in Season 19.
Moyer reports that the Overwatch 2 team is actively developing the game’s story. To help players keep up, they’re planning a convenient hub for all new story content.
Moyer said this will be a great resource for both dedicated fans and newcomers alike, helping everyone stay connected to the story.
Overwatch 2 lore timeline
Moyer explained that Overwatch’s new content will be released seasonally, providing a clear and structured way to follow the game’s story. Players will also be able to view a schedule showing when future content will become available.
As a huge Overwatch fan, I’m really excited to hear they’re going to break down the story season by season! It’ll be so much easier to follow everything that’s happened and how it all connects. Plus, Moyer mentioned we’ll get a peek at when we can expect new content – which is awesome!
Players can currently find new story videos directly in the Overwatch 2 main menu. They can also explore hero backgrounds, details about different groups within the game, and cutscenes through the Story Missions that were added in Season 6.
The new timeline feature is still being developed, but it’s generating a lot of excitement among fans who love the story and background of the series.
