Nikita Kuzmin’s girlfriend Lauren Jaine has asked fans to ‘be respectful’ of their relationship.
Professional dancer Kai Widdrington, age 27, is currently paired with Amber Davies, 29, a former star of Love Island, on this year’s dance competition show.
Although the dancing is the primary focus of the show, audiences are often equally fascinated by the drama and events that occur offstage.
For over 23 seasons, people have wondered if romantic relationships develop between the celebrities and professional dancers on the show – a trend often called the ‘Strictly curse’.
On Friday, 23-year-old Lauren shared a video on TikTok reminding viewers to be considerate of the relationships that already exist among the cast members.
She filmed herself smiling and pretending to scroll through TikTok, adding the caption: ‘Me watching all the sweet couple videos.’

Lauren looked puzzled and shared comments she’d seen wishing bad luck on the contestants, specifically referencing the “Strictly curse.”
With her post, she asked fans to be considerate of the contestants’ significant others and let them enjoy the show without disruption.
Nikita and Lauren began dating around the beginning of 2023 and officially announced their relationship in October.
A source revealed to The Sun that Nikita and Lauren had been seeing each other for several months and appeared to have a strong connection.
They’ve been trying to keep their relationship private, but they’ve been spotted together at events and seem very happy with each other.
Nikita has been spending a lot of time with someone special, and they even took a summer vacation together. Their relationship is going well, and Nikita is very happy.
Their relationship seems to be thriving – the dancer recently shared details about wedding plans with the model.
Nikita recently shared with OK! Magazine that he and his partner have discussed their future together, and he’s hoping she’ll agree to marry him someday.

‘We just saw a video of a wedding in South Africa and got emotional watching it. So, why not?’
He openly shared details about their relationship, revealing that their perfect date night is actually quite simple and relaxed, a contrast to the flashy excitement of his time on Strictly Come Dancing.
‘Honestly, 99 per cent of the time we’re at home watching Modern Family,’ he admitted.
‘It’s not about what we do, it’s about just being together and respecting each other’s space.’
Lauren shared a TikTok video following reports that many of the celebrities competing on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing actually have previous dance training.
The show aims to teach celebrities how to dance with the help of professional dancers, but surprisingly, many of them are already quite skilled.
While she may not have long to prepare, Amber has plenty of dance experience behind her.
The performer is a trained dancer and musical theatre artist. They earned a diploma in professional musical theatre and dance, studied dance in secondary school, and received further training at Danceworld Stage School.

As a teenager, she trained in musical theatre at Urdang Academy, a performing arts school.
Amber recently competed on the ITV show Dancing On Ice, achieving a strong fifth-place finish alongside her professional skating partner, Simon Proulx-Senecal.
Many Strictly fans were unimpressed with the signing due to Amber’s past dance experience.
They expressed their disappointment on social media, stating that the show, which featured a professional dancer, had gone completely off track and needed a fresh start.
I remember wondering if she’d been on Dancing On Ice before! But what I love about Strictly is seeing the celebrities actually *learn* to dance – it’s all about the progress they make. This feels different, like it’s jumping straight to the performance without that learning process.
‘Another dancer? She may play it down but this is her career. I don’t think that’s fair really.’
She’s a professional dancer who previously competed on Dancing On Ice. However, her skills are actually a bit too advanced for this particular show.
Emmerdale’s Lewis Cope is no stranger to dancing, having trained extensively for his role in the West End production of Billy Elliott.

It’s also been revealed that he was previously on the Sky show *Got To Dance* as part of a dance group called Ruff Diamond.
Hosted by Davina McCall, the show searched for the UK’s best new dancer. Each week, hopefuls performed, competing for a cash prize.
Lewis, with Ruff Diamond, reached the final of the 2013 series and finished in fourth place.
Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, who competed as Nitro on the show Gladiators, is also a skilled dancer.
The Team GB sprinter has no formal dance training, but he appeared on the 2024 Strictly Christmas special with Nancy Xu. That experience will likely help him pick up the choreography during rehearsals.
EastEnders actress Balvinder Sopal shared that she used to enjoy Latin and ballroom dancing as a pastime.
Appearing on Good Morning Britain, she explained that she briefly tried ballroom and Latin dancing as a hobby and thoroughly enjoyed it. She added that having a passion for an activity makes it much more enjoyable.
Similar to Amber, La Voix, who stars on RuPaul’s Drag Race, also trained at Urdang Academy and probably gained some dance skills while she was there.
