Chris Robshaw jokes that his recent appearance on *Strictly Come Dancing* has impressed his wife, singer Camilla Kerslake, who finds him even more attractive now.
The 39-year-old former rugby player told the Daily Mail that he’s really enjoyed getting back into training, and even though it’s for a different reason – like wearing sequins instead of an England shirt – it’s made him very happy.
Honestly, taking up dancing has been a total game-changer for me! I feel incredible – it’s honestly made me feel like I’m back in my athletic prime. I’m in the best shape I’ve been in ages, and I have so much more energy. It’s amazing what moving your body can do!
I’m feeling fantastic, both mentally and physically – better than I have in a long time! My kids definitely keep me active, and now the Strictly training is adding to that. I feel really fit, almost like Joe Wicks!
Staying healthy is a big priority for me. I want to be as fit as possible so I can live a long life for my two sons. I’ve also been enjoying my workouts – they’re really helping me get in shape! My wife says she’s attracted to me more than ever, which is a nice bonus.

Chris also shared how his confidence has grown again since competing in the show.
He explained that being on the show helped him rediscover who he is and rebuild his self-confidence, which had been shaken over time.
Becoming a father definitely gave me a sense of meaning, but after my sons grew up and especially after I retired, I felt a bit lost and unsure of who I was.
Being on Strictly has filled a void in my life. It’s given me something I’ve been missing, a feeling I really needed. I think it’s the contrast – going from constant training to suddenly not having it anymore.
Look, I absolutely adore my job – getting paid to talk about my passion on TV is a dream come true. But honestly? I talk to the athletes all the time, and every single one of them misses actually *playing* the game. Being on the field, in the action… that’s what they really live for, and it makes me realize that’s what’s missing, even for me.
Chris said whether he wins the competition is up to the viewers. He explained, ‘The public will decide my fate.’
The decision of whether I continue on the show rests with them, as they have the final say.

I’m determined to stay and I’ll do everything I can to earn another vote. I’m not giving up – I still believe I can succeed.
This follows a revealing photo of the Strictly Come Dancing contestant shared by his wife, shortly after he almost became the first celebrity eliminated on Sunday’s show.
I’m such a big fan of Chris, and Camilla is amazing! She really went all out to get votes for him – she playfully covered him with a huge rugby ball emoji on social media and added the cutest message: ‘Sequins look good on you.’ It was such a sweet and funny way to support him!
On Saturday’s live show, he and his professional dance partner, Nadiya Bychkova, performed a Samba to EMF’s “Unbelievable.” Their performance earned them only 14 points, placing them near the bottom of the leaderboard in second to last place.
It was, instead, The Apprentice star Thomas Skinner and Amy Dowden who were first to leave.
