Chloe Lattanzi reveals her ‘promise’ to her late mother Olivia Newton John as she takes to the stage at the annual Run for Wellness in Melbourne

Chloe Lattanzi shared a special promise she made to her mother, Olivia Newton-John, while at the Walk and Run for Wellness event in Melbourne on Sunday.

The actress, age 39, shared with the audience that she’s working on new songs to honor her mother, a famous singer, who passed away from breast cancer in 2022.

Chloe explained to the audience, standing alongside her cousin Tottie Goldsmith, that she’s been writing a lot of songs lately. She and her friend had bonded over music, and she felt inspired to make a heartfelt commitment.

A mother’s greatest joy is seeing her child happy, healthy, and flourishing, using their gifts and reaching their full potential.

Chloe shared that she wrote a song about getting through tough times, inspired by her own life.

As a lifestyle expert, I often talk about resilience, and my song, ‘Phoenix,’ really embodies that idea. It’s about how even when you’re facing incredibly tough challenges, you have the power to transform that pain into something beautiful and strong – like turning coal into a diamond. It’s all about growth through adversity.

She told them they could overcome their difficulties and be reborn, just like the mythical Phoenix rising from ashes. She acknowledged that many in the audience had experienced hardship but had managed to rebuild their lives.

I promised my mother I would carry on her work, keep loving myself, and strive to reach my full potential.

Olivia Newton-John died in August 2022 following a 20-year breast cancer battle.

Chloe is Olivia’s only child, born in 1986 from her first marriage to actor Matt Lattanzi.

Olivia Newton-John, best known for her role in Grease, passed away on August 8, 2022, at her home in Santa Ynez, California. She was 73 years old and had been fighting cancer for many years.

After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992, she courageously battled the illness for many years.

The cancer initially responded well to treatment and disappeared for a time, but unfortunately, it came back in 2013 and again in 2017.

The public was deeply saddened by Olivia’s passing, and many people shared loving memories of her. Friends and colleagues, including John Travolta, her co-star in Grease, and Victorian Premier Dan Andrews, paid tribute, and Andrews announced a state funeral to honor her life.

Before her trip to Australia in September 2022, Chloe shared her thoughts on a difficult loss during an appearance on the Sunrise program.

‘I’m sorry, it’s still raw for me. People I don’t even know have lifted me up and I have been able to engage with people going through cancer,’ she began.

We’re proud to keep the Walk for Wellness going. There’s no better feeling than helping those in need.

During my struggles with mental illness, I made a point of reaching out to others who understood what I was going through.

Chloe shared that Olivia, despite battling breast cancer herself, consistently made time to support others facing the same disease, offering them comfort and reminding them they weren’t isolated in their experience.
