Channel Nine star David Whitehill and wife Christie split after 11 years of marriage – as they break their silence following shock breakup

TV host Dave Whitehill and his wife, Christie, a businesswoman, have ended their 11-year marriage. The split was kept private.

The couple, married in Bali in 2014, announced their split to the Daily Mail on Friday, each releasing a separate statement.

Dave shared that they’re going through a transition and trying to figure things out. He emphasized that they’re handling the situation positively and focusing on understanding their own feelings rather than blaming each other.

The safety and happiness of our children are our top priorities – that’s what matters most to us. We’re committed to learning from this experience and moving forward together as a strong family.

Christie echoed Dave’s sentiments in her own statement.

Christie explained that the decision wasn’t easy, and they both tried hard to resolve their differences, particularly for the sake of their children, but they eventually realized they were no longer compatible.

We’re committed to remaining good friends and raising our two children with love and respect.

Dave and Christie first met by chance on a street in Burleigh on the Gold Coast.

Christie co-founded the successful wellness brand INTU WELLNESS and currently runs it alongside her friend, Anna Heinrich.

Oh my gosh, and it’s not just their acting! They *also* have this amazing podcast called ‘In Your Skin,’ and seriously, they talk about *everything* – like, how to actually be healthy, but also, you know, deeper stuff about life and finding yourself. I’m obsessed with it!

Dave, meanwhile, remains one of Australia’s most recognisable travel presenters.

He was once named Cleo Bachelor of the Year (in 2001) and has since been featured on popular TV shows like Mornings with Kerri-Anne, Just For Laughs, Hot Source, Today, and Getaway.

Dave and his partner got married in 2014 at the Jeeva Klui Resort in Lombok, right by an infinity pool with a view of the Indian Ocean. It was a special location, as Dave had proposed there two years before.

Before finding love with Christie, Dave dated bikini model and Neighbours star Imogen Bailey.

Dave and Christie share two children, Zac and Ava.

The presenter of the Foxtel travel show Escape first met his future wife in Queensland in 2009. They were together for five years before getting married in a beautiful ceremony in Indonesia.

The meeting was almost stopped when Christie discovered she’d lost her three-carat diamond engagement ring.

The ring turned up in the hotel room, and the wedding continued perfectly after that.

Following their wedding, the couple ventured to Europe for their honeymoon.

The former couple still follow each other on Instagram.
