Good news for NFL fans in Europe! Madden NFL 26 is hosting an international competition in Madrid this November.
EA SPORTS™ Madden NFL and the National Football League (NFL) are thrilled to bring the energy of American football to fans around the world. This marks a significant step in the sport’s growing international presence, with its first-ever event taking place in Madrid, Spain.
Fans can look forward to an incredible experience that celebrates both the excitement of competition and the diverse cultures and global community that make this game so unique.
Madden NFL 26 International: Madrid Challenge
The championship esports tournament will finish with a live final event on November 15, 2025, right before the Washington Commanders and Miami Dolphins play their NFL game in Madrid. The event is designed to attract fans worldwide, creating a special experience for football lovers everywhere, and is part of the NFL’s plan to grow its popularity in Europe.
Honestly, just competing internationally was mind-blowing! I got to play in the Madden NFL 25 Championship Series Madden Bowl in London, and it was unreal. The venue was awesome, the crowd was super hyped, and the whole experience was amazing. Seeing that level of energy for Madden esports outside of the US has really fired me up to keep improving and competing!
The event will be held at the Real Madrid Club Shop inside the Bernabéu stadium – one of Spain’s biggest sports venues. If you can’t be there in person, you can still watch it live on the official Madden NFL Twitch and YouTube channels.
Qualification process
Players can qualify for a chance to compete internationally and win an incredible trip to Madrid in one of two ways: through PlayStation Tournaments or ChallengerMode. Madden NFL 26 players in Denmark, Finland, Greece, Hungary, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, and the UK are eligible to compete in a $10,000 online regional tournament hosted by Sony on PlayStation Tournaments from October 6th to 16th.
Players from the US, Canada, and Mexico who qualify can compete in a $50,000 online tournament on ChallengerMode. Winning either of these qualifying tournaments earns a unique prize: a trip to compete in the live championship and see the 2025 NFL game in Madrid.
