Saoirse Ronan Joins Sam Mendes’ Beatles Biopic as Linda McCartney

Saoirse Ronan, an Academy Award nominee, is joining the cast of Sam Mendes’ new movie about The Beatles, and will play a significant role. The film already boasts a cast of well-known actors.

According to reports, Saoirse Ronan will star alongside Paul Mescal in a new four-part biopic directed by Sam Mendes. Ronan will play Linda McCartney, while Mescal will portray her husband, Sir Paul McCartney. Harris Dickinson, Joseph Quinn, and Barry Keoghan will play the other members of The Beatles – John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr – throughout the four films.

As a huge fan, I’m incredibly excited about the upcoming biopic! It’s going to be told from the individual viewpoints of each of the four band members – each getting their own movie. Sony’s described it as a way to see their collective story, with the tagline being, ‘Each man has his own story, but together they are legendary.’ They’re aiming for a 2028 release for all four films, and they’ve even called it the ‘first binge-able theatrical experience,’ which sounds amazing. We don’t know exactly when each movie will hit theaters yet, but the idea of seeing the whole story unfold like that is really cool.

Shawn Mendes has previously discussed the film, saying he’s thrilled to share the story of what he considers the greatest rock band ever and to experiment with what people expect from a moviegoing experience. He shared these thoughts when details about the project were first announced.

Pippa Harris, who works with Mendes at Neal Street Productions, explained that they’re aiming to create a truly exciting and large-scale movie experience. The plan is to tell one complete story about The Beatles – considered the most famous band ever – through four separate films, each showing events from a different point of view. She emphasized how honored they are to have the approval of both The Beatles and Apple Corps for this project.

What’s Next for Saoirse Ronan Before the Beatles Movies?

The movie, directed by Jonatan Etzler and written by Jess O’Kane (based on Rasmus Lindgren’s novel *De Oönskade*), features Ronan as Maria, a teacher dealing with a challenging student who constantly disrupts her class.

In addition to starring Ronan, the film *Bad Apples* features Eddie Waller as Danny, Jacob Anderson as Sam, Rakie Ayola as Sylvia, Robert Emms as Josh, Sean Gilder as Frank, and Kerry Howard as PC Williams. *Bad Apples* premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September and received very positive reviews.
