Victoria Beckham mentions estranged son Brooklyn in heartfelt thank you speech at her Netflix documentary premiere amid ongoing family rift

Victoria Beckham spoke about her son Brooklyn during a touching thank-you speech at the London premiere of her Netflix documentary on Wednesday.

Even though Brooklyn, 26, missed his mother’s event, Victoria immediately mentioned him when she spoke on stage at the screening.

Trying to stay composed, she thanked her family, saying, “To my children – Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper – and David, who isn’t a child anymore! – I was actually doing pretty well speaking without notes!”

Going through this experience has finally helped me appreciate my accomplishments and understand that I am worthy just as I am.

She jokingly thanked her husband, David, saying he had strongly encouraged – and essentially made her – do something, leaving her with no other option.

Victoria explained that she usually focuses on the future and has big ambitions. However, preparing for this project made her think about her past, which was a surprisingly emotional and new experience for her.

To be honest, it felt like a year of really intense therapy, and it helped me understand a lot about myself.

‘I want to thank my mum and dad for everything, my brother and sister.’

Brooklyn’s absence is the latest in a string of family events he’s missed this year, following a falling out with his family.

The mother of four attended the launch of her new three-part series with her stylish husband, David, age 50. The series chronicles her life, from her time in the Spice Girls, through her years as a WAG, and her career as a fashion designer. It will be available starting October 9th.

The couple’s children – Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 20 – were all there to celebrate, along with Cruz’s girlfriend, Jackie Apostel, 30, and their daughter, Harper, 14.

Even though her son Brooklyn wasn’t there – despite their difficult relationship, she still loves him – the singer-turned-designer beamed with happiness and enjoyed her successful evening.

This was another touching moment, and a reminder of how things have shifted for the Beckham family. Just over two years ago, Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola Peltz, were at the same location for the premiere of David Beckham’s documentary series, ‘Beckham’.

Victoria and David have accepted that they won’t be seeing their oldest son for a while. Their absence is felt at family events, especially after they didn’t attend David’s 50th birthday party, marking a low point in their strained relationship.

She also fondly acknowledged her former Spice Girls bandmates – Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Mel B, and Mel C – during her speech.

Oh my gosh, she just thanked the Spice Girls! Geri, Emma, both Melanies… she actually said their names! It was the sweetest thing ever, she was like, ‘I love you so much!’ I’m seriously melting, it was everything I ever dreamed of! She really appreciates them, and honestly, same! I’m so happy she acknowledged them, it meant the world to me and probably to all of us!

Victoria had a wonderful evening thanks to a small get-together with some of the Spice Girls. It would have been a full reunion, but Melanie Brown was traveling for work in the US. Melanie did send Victoria flowers to wish her well for her event last night.

Geri, Emma and Mel C did however make a show-stopping arrival as they supported their close friend.

Geri Halliwell was accompanied by her husband, Christian Horner, for their first public outing since reports surfaced that Horner had received an £80 million settlement from his previous employer, Red Bull Racing.

She was dressed in her trademark white as she posed for the cameras.

Mel C and her boyfriend Chris Dingwall made a rare appearance together at the premiere.

Mel revealed her new boyfriend last summer after people had been wondering about their relationship for months.
