Denise Richards’ estranged husband Aaron Phypers breaks silence on her chilling abuse claims

Aaron Phypers responded to claims made by his soon-to-be ex-wife, Denise Richards, alleging he was physically abusive during their six years of marriage.

Former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 54, testified in court this week about the alleged abuse she experienced with her ex, 53, who strongly denies the claims.

Phypers told The Daily Mail on Tuesday that he’s feeling good and commended his lawyer, Michael Finley, for doing excellent work.

He’s revealing her secrets, claiming ‘the truth will set you free,’ as he came to court to defend himself.

Phypers then criticized the cultural expectation to ‘believe women’ without question.

I truly do believe women, generally. But let’s be real, not *every* woman is truthful, and I think in this particular case, she’s not being honest. I have a strong feeling it’s going to come out soon, and the truth will be revealed.

Phypers continued that all he wants is a fair opportunity to defend himself.

He expressed optimism about his case, saying he believed he had a good chance and praised the judge. He stated he was confident in his version of events and was waiting to see how things unfolded.

That day, Richards shared her account in court to decide if the temporary protection order issued in July should become permanent.

In court documents obtained by People, Richards alleged that her husband, Phypers, whom she married in 2018, caused her to suffer at least three concussions.

The actress says that in April 2025, while at a Chicago hotel, Phypers squeezed her head so tightly she felt like her skull was going to crush. She claims this happened during one specific incident.

You know, I’ve talked to a lot of people about relationships, and it’s fascinating what they consider ‘better’ even in difficult times. One woman recently shared that, surprisingly, she felt her marriage to Charlie Sheen was almost *easier* to navigate because, despite everything, he avoided truly low blows. It’s a strange thing to say, but it really highlights that sometimes, how someone *doesn’t* fight can be just as important as how they do.

On July 16th, Richards obtained a temporary restraining order, only eleven days after Phypers initiated divorce proceedings.

Okay, so I’ve heard from someone who’s in the know, and honestly, it’s infuriating! They’re saying she and her lawyers are just making stuff up, total lies! But don’t worry, because my guy – Phypers – is totally confident he’s going to win this whole protection order thing. He’s going to prove it all, you just wait and see! I *know* he’s innocent and this is all a ridiculous attempt to smear him.

The source added, ‘Denise is again behaving like a coward and the truth will prevail.’

The source also highlighted a statement Charlie Sheen made six years ago about his former wife, where he accused Denise Richards and her lawyers of consistently telling lies.

‘If telling the truth is “below the belt” then so be it,’ the insider stated.

According to the source, Aaron will eventually be proven right, just as Charlie predicted. They questioned how anyone could be taken seriously in court regarding a false domestic violence claim when they couldn’t even prevent Denise from repeatedly breaking her promise to Aaron.

Richards stated she discovered she had concussions when Phypers reportedly used equipment at his wellness center on her after she described experiencing headaches, feeling unwell, and nausea.

‘He scanned me, and it showed up that I had a concussion,’ she claimed.

Richards detailed one instance when she reportedly got a black eye in January 17, 2022.

She also stated that Phypers pushed her against a concrete wall in the carport of his wellness center, causing her head to hit the wall. This incident allegedly happened sometime between March and May 2022.

Richards claims a third incident occurred at a Chicago hotel in April 2025, where Phypers allegedly lifted and squeezed her head so hard it felt like it was being crushed.

On the first day of her testimony, Richards stated that after she mentioned text messages with another man, Phypers began physically assaulting her – grabbing and pushing her down – while they were at a Chicago hotel for ComicCon.

She claimed he grabbed her face, and she told him he was going to leave a mark.

She also claimed she said, ‘Please stop, you’re hurting me.’

And on Tuesday, she discussed the headaches she got from the incidents calling them ‘very painful.’

She said there was a ‘constant throbbing’ and she felt ‘off balance’ and ‘nauseous.’

During questioning, the actress revealed she hadn’t reported the incidents to the police and hadn’t received a concussion diagnosis from any doctor.

People reports that lawyers for Phypers presented a video Richards filmed in August during the court hearing.

Richards drew a comparison between her six-year marriage and her earlier relationship with Sheen, whom she was married to from 2002 to 2005 and shares two daughters with: 21-year-old Sami and 20-year-old Lola.

‘Things were bad with Charlie and I, but he never hit below the belt,’ she said in the clip.

It just… it killed me when she said that. Like, she listed all her exes, and she *knew* them all, really knew them. But me? She said she doesn’t know me. Doesn’t *know* me! After everything… it’s been unbelievably brutal, honestly. That’s what she said, that’s why it’s been so incredibly hard for her, and for me, to even process. It’s like I never even *existed* to her, and it’s just… devastating.

‘I don’t even know who the f**k you are,’ she went on, adding, ‘And I gave you everything.’

Information about Denise Richards’ former husband, Charlie Sheen, came to light when the lawyer for her current husband, Aaron Phypers, included Sheen’s name on a list of possible witnesses for an upcoming court hearing.

The breakup between Richards and Sheen was very difficult, and the actress filed for divorce in March 2005 while expecting their second child.

In the clip that played in court, Richards also claims she found evidence of Phypers cheating.

‘I saw the d**k pics you took,’ she claimed while denying that she had cheated.

She added that it was ‘such a shock’ when Phypers filed for divorce.

‘I really thought you were my soulmate,’ she said.

She claimed he had repeatedly hit her, and that the abuse was escalating with each instance.

Witnesses said Richards became visibly upset while watching the video and was seen wiping away tears.

A family member testified that Richards’ husband, Phypers, punched her in the face, causing a black eye. The incident reportedly happened the day before the testimony.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following this case closely. Yesterday, Kathleen McAllister, who is related to Phyper, shared her support for Richards’ statements. She testified remotely about the abuse she experienced with her former partner, corroborating Richards’ claims. It’s a difficult situation, and her willingness to come forward is incredibly brave.

In her virtual testimony, McAllister stated that she witnessed Aaron strike Denise on January 17, 2022, resulting in a severe black eye. She continues to be deeply shocked by the event.

During my testimony, I shared that my ex-partner, Phypers, frequently intimidated me with threats of physical violence – specifically, he’d often say he would throw me out of windows or off balconies. It was a really frightening pattern of behavior, and I felt it was important for the court to understand the level of fear I lived with.

She alleged: ‘He’s almost killed me so many damn times.’

She shared that the split began on July 4th, when she asked Phypers to move out of their home.

Oh my god, he just *lost* it with me. He got right in my face, all fiery and unpredictable. It was awful because I’d just had a facelift, I was still healing – I had stitches *behind my ears*! I felt so fragile and exposed, like he could just… break me.

Richards alleged their arguments frequently turned physical.

He would physically grab my arms and verbally abuse me, calling me names like ‘cheating whore,’ ‘cunt,’ and ‘lying bitch’.

She detailed how it made her feel ‘scared’ and ‘sad.’

‘It made me feel intimidated by him. He’s very big,’ she added. ‘I’m a lot smaller than him.’

In a court document filed in July, Richards alleged that Phypers repeatedly physically assaulted her, including choking, slapping her face and head, and slamming her head against a bathroom towel rack. She also stated he threatened her life and pinned her down, causing her to fear for her safety.

She also claimed he repeatedly threatened to break her jaw, and would then switch between crying, begging her to stay, and promising to seek help – promises he never kept.

Phypers has previously denied all the accusations against him.

In a court document filed on September 15th, he claimed that Richards repeatedly attacked and harassed him.
