Strictly Come Dancing host forced to apologise for on-air It Takes Two flub

Fleur East, host of *Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two*, quickly apologized on air after a guest accidentally used a mild swear word. She was interviewing content creator George Clarke and his dance partner, Alexis Warr, when the slip happened.

George was talking about their paso doble from last week’s show, which earned them a great score of 30.

Looking back at that performance, it’s crazy – I was totally in the zone! Honestly, it felt like I completely lost track of time and only really *felt* the enjoyment afterwards. I pretty much blacked out while I was doing it!

After finishing the performance, I realized it was our best one yet.

Alexis was so struck by George’s dedication that she nearly lost track of her own tasks.

Honestly, from the very first moment he found his footing, I just *knew* he was on fire! I was immediately yelling, “Come on George, you got this!” I was so hyped for him!

I nearly didn’t go, but then it hit me – I needed to get moving! I realized it because he instantly became fully immersed in his role.

Fleur chimed in: “Sorry about the language you just heard there. We just get very excited!”

George and Alexis tied for second place on Sunday’s show with Balvinder Sopal, a popular actor from *EastEnders*, and her dance partner Julian Caillon. Both Alexis and Julian are new to the show this year.

Alex Kingston and Johannes Radebe earned a strong 31 points in the latest round, but Amber Davies and Nikita Kuzmin had the highest combined score after the first two weeks of competition.

On his *Useless Hotline Podcast*, George shared that he had been dealing with an injury during training. He hurt himself while practicing a handstand in the training room.

He explained that he didn’t want to draw attention to his back during the event. When asked about it during a virtual tech check, he specifically requested they not mention it, saying he didn’t want it to become a focus.

I’ve been dealing with a pinched nerve in my back all week. I tried acupuncture mid-week and also went to physical therapy four times.

This weekend, he and Alexis will be the first pairing of the series to perform a Couple’s Choice.

During the popular Movie Week on the show, contestants will dance to “Soda Pop” from the Netflix movie *Kpop Demon Hunters*. Actress Cynthia Erivo, who has previously been a guest judge, will also be making an appearance.

You can watch *Strictly Come Dancing* on Saturdays on BBC One, and the companion show, *Strictly: It Takes Two*, airs weeknights on BBC Two. Both programs are also available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
