Ninetails has quickly become a team to watch since they started playing in January, consistently delivering impressive performances.
The regional qualifying rounds for VALORANT Game Changers are happening now, and teams are competing for a spot at the Game Changers Championship in Seoul, South Korea. Only the top 10 teams will advance to the championship event.
With so much competition, some teams are quickly becoming fan favorites thanks to their impressive performances and inspiring journeys. Ninetails GC is one of those teams – they’ve rapidly gained popularity with an incredible 21-game winning streak, making them a thrilling team to follow. Here’s a closer look at how they got here.
Meet Ninetails
Founded in January 2025 by streamer Kim “972” Tae-il – who now coaches their female team – the Korean esports organization Ninetails (NTZ) quickly made a name for themselves. They dominated the Korean Game Changers tournament, winning every match they competed in.
Ninetails had a fantastic run in the GC Korea Split 2, earning them a spot at the Game Changers Pacific tournament – a major milestone before competing internationally. While they played very well in Korea, the team understood that the Pacific tournament would be much tougher with more on the line. Still, they were confident in their ability to perform at a high level.

After winning against strong teams like Asterisk Women and FENNEL GC, Ninetails is just one win away from the Grand Finals. They’ll need to beat the challenging Xipto Esports GC to get there.
Despite facing challenges, Ninetails has demonstrated incredible strength, winning 21 matches in a row – a rare accomplishment in VALORANT. If they beat Xipto Esports GC on October 10th, the Korean team will earn a spot at the Game Changers Championship, which will be held in Korea.

Initiator
Hey, so I’ve been following EveR, Kim Ji-min, and she’s seriously good! She’s only 20, and the last player on the Ninetails team. I’ve seen her compete since 2022 – she’s played for a bunch of teams like LWE Female, Milky Way, and BSG GC before landing with Ninetails. She’s been grinding for a while now!
