Now, 76-year-old Stella is using X to support Freida’s message and share that the star of ‘9 to 5’ has been dealing with kidney stones.
On Wednesday, she shared an update on X about her sister Dolly’s health. Dolly recently posted a video for her fans explaining she’s being treated for kidney stones.
My sister, Freida, always worries when one of us is sick, so she asked for prayers for Dolly. As a sister to both of them, I believe it’s important to love and respect their privacy, just as I would want them to respect mine.

This news follows confirmation from Dolly Parton’s team that she is doing okay, after her family requested well wishes and prayers from fans.
Olly Rowland, Dolly’s manager in the UK, says Freida’s recent social media post has made Dolly’s health issues seem more serious than they are.
He explained: ‘It’s just the kidney stones, and the procedure she needs to resolve those.
‘It looks like her sister posted, and it got quite a bit blown out of proportion, weirdly.’
Freida recently posted on Facebook to clarify that she didn’t intend to worry anyone or make the situation seem worse than it was.
She hasn’t been feeling well lately, so I asked people to pray for her, as I truly believe in the power of prayer.

Dolly has previously suffered from kidney stones both last month and back in 2015.

Dolly announced on September 28th that she’s delaying her Las Vegas show, originally planned for December 4th-13th at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, until September 2026 because of health issues.
The actress announced to her followers on Instagram that she’s dealing with some health issues and will need to have medical treatment.
I’m letting my fans know directly that I have to postpone my concerts in Las Vegas. I’ve been having some health issues, and my doctors have advised me to get a few procedures done.
She made a lighthearted joke about needing a ‘100,000-mile check-up,’ but quickly clarified she wasn’t referring to her regular cosmetic surgery appointment.
Despite the setback, Parton reassured fans that she is not retiring.
She assured me she had no plans to retire, explaining that she felt God hadn’t given her any indication to stop working.

Dolly Parton couldn’t be at the event in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, but shared a video message explaining she’s recovering from kidney stones.
Even though she wasn’t there in person, Dolly seemed healthy in her video message and assured her fans she’d be back at Dollywood before long.
In 2015, she revealed that she had three kidney stones removed and was ‘doing just fine’.
‘I love and appreciate everyone’s concern,’ she wrote in a statement on her website, at the time.
