Nicholas Hoult shared a video on NYCC’s Instagram explaining that he unfortunately can’t attend the event. He recently had knee surgery and is still recovering, making it impossible for him to travel at this time.

The actor shared his regret about what happened and offered an apology. He then wished everyone a great weekend, expressing his hope to reconnect with them soon.

New York Comic Con sent Nicholas Hoult their best wishes for a quick recovery after he had to cancel his appearance. They announced that anyone who bought autographs or photo opportunities in advance would receive a refund, and expressed hope he’ll be able to attend a future event.
