Taylor Swift is debunking some online rumors.
Taylor Swift, the Grammy-winning artist, appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” Monday night to discuss her new album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” and share details about her engagement to Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce. She talked about the meaning behind specific songs and offered fans an inside look at her personal life.
While appearing on the show, Taylor Swift found herself involved in a somewhat awkward game where Jimmy Fallon read out online rumors about her and tried to guess which ones were true. She clarified that she hadn’t rejected a Super Bowl halftime performance due to a disagreement over footage ownership, and she also confirmed that a joke she made at Selena Gomez’s wedding about Gomez getting married before her was just that – a joke.

Taylor Swift appeared on ‘The Graham Norton Show’ and excitedly talked about Travis Kelce’s amazing marriage proposal. She also revealed that her new music includes a lot of details about him.
The singer, known for her romantic songs, confirmed she gave a speech at the wedding, but she intentionally avoided talking about her own engagement. When asked if the joke about her engagement was true, she explained she’d told herself, ‘Don’t bring it up, and maybe hide the ring!’
Taylor Swift explained that it’s inappropriate for a wedding guest to use the speech as an opportunity to share personal news. Instead, she playfully joked about her and Selena Gomez’s fashion choices when they first became friends in 2008.
Taylor Swift described her and her friend’s go-to outfits back then. Her friend always wore a long tank top, skinny jeans, and a small vest with Converse sneakers – it was her signature look. Swift, on the other hand, said she always looked like she was rushing to a cowboy-themed school dance.
“I did not make it about me,” she said.
× On Monday, Selena Gomez shared a video and photos from her wedding on Instagram to celebrate her friend’s new album.
Gomez shared a heartfelt message, saying she’s grateful to have had this person in her life for nearly 20 years, and that her love for them will last forever.
Taylor Swift explained to Jimmy Fallon that it’s not about who owns the Super Bowl footage preventing her from performing at halftime. She’s simply too busy with her fiancé’s football career to take on the commitment.
Throughout the season, I was completely focused on what that player was doing on the field,” the singer of “Love Story” explained. “It’s hard to imagine him risking his health every week playing such a demanding and intense sport, while I’m thinking about the dance steps!”
If you ask her biggest fans, they probably can.
It’s great that Jimmy Fallon eventually guessed correctly. Apparently, Ed Sheeran – who Taylor Swift considers one of her closest friends – found out about her engagement the same way most people did: through Instagram.
“He doesn’t have a phone,” Swift said.
