Netflix just dropped a new trailer for its upcoming animated movie, *The Twits*, starring Johnny Vegas and Jason Mantzoukas, known from the show *Taskmaster*. The film is based on Roald Dahl’s beloved children’s book and will be available to stream worldwide on Netflix starting October 17th.
The movie *The Twits* is being called a hilarious and chaotic adventure. Chris O’Dowd will play Mr. Twit, and Margo Martindale, known from *The Good Wife*, will be the voice of Mrs. Twit.
Phil Johnston, who co-wrote and directed *Zootopia*, helms this film, which features a talented voice cast including Natalie Portman, Emilia Clarke (known for *Game of Thrones*), Charlie Berens, Nicole Byer, and Alan Tudyk.
What to Read Next
The movie centers around Mr. and Mrs. Twit, famously awful and smelly people, and their plan to control the town using their run-down and risky amusement park, Twitlandia.
The story follows two courageous kids and a family of enchanting Muggle-Wumps who must outsmart the villainous Twits when they take control of their town, in order to protect everyone.

The movie’s trailer shows it will include some well-known moments from the original story, like the “Wormy Spaghetti” and the “Dreaded Shrinks.”
The trailer reveals that Mr. and Mrs. Twit are causing trouble for nearby orphans. Luckily, two resourceful kids named Beesha and Bubsy join forces with some enchanting animals to stop them.
Along with the trailer release, director Johnston shared a message saying the team – a group of wonderfully eccentric people – is excited for everyone to finally see the unique and unconventional film they’ve created.

I’m so excited for the movie’s music! Apparently, David Byrne from Talking Heads and Hayley Williams of Paramore both wrote original songs that will be featured in the soundtrack. It’s a pretty cool combination, and I can’t wait to hear what they’ve come up with.
Williams shared that working on the film has been a dream come true. He also revealed that The Twits was his favorite book as a child.
I love exploring complex characters like Mr. and Mrs. Twit and the Wormwoods from *Matilda*. I was particularly impressed with how Phil and Daisy reimagined the story, and I really enjoyed the animation.
The Twits is released on Netflix Friday, 17 October.
