TMNT: Chrome Alone 2 Gets First Picture Ahead of SpongeBob Movie Release

Paramount Pictures has shared the first image from “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Chrome Alone 2 — Lost in New Jersey,” a new short film connected to the “TMNT: Mutant Mayhem” universe.

A new image from Variety shows the Ninja Turtles bundled up for winter in New York City. The short film will premiere in movie theaters before showings of “The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants,” which comes out on December 19, 2025.

Here’s a first look at the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles adventure, *Chrome Alone 2: Lost in New Jersey*! See it below.

What do we know about TMNT: Chrome Alone 2?

Continuing the story from the 2023 film *Mutant Mayhem*, *Chrome Alone 2* will follow the turtle brothers on their first trip to New Jersey. During their adventure, they’ll face a challenge from a mysterious toy company that’s trying to capitalize on their growing popularity, and they’ll also uncover a surprising secret.

Directed by Kent Seki, the new film *Chrome Alone 2* – a humorous nod to *Home Alone 2* – aims to both celebrate the legacy of the Ninja Turtles and maintain their signature, energetic style, according to Seki in a Variety interview.

According to Seki, they aimed to pay tribute to the Ninja Turtles’ origins while exploring how they’d fare in a completely new setting. They chose New Jersey as the ideal location because it’s near New York City, but still offers a unique atmosphere and challenges that push the turtles in unexpected ways.

Honestly, after seeing this short, I’m a little fuzzy on exactly *when* it fits into the timeline of the ‘Mutant Mayhem’ universe. But good news for fans – a sequel is already confirmed! We can expect it on September 17, 2027, and from what I’m hearing, Shredder is going to be the big bad this time around. Sounds promising!
