Richard E. Grant surprised the audience at the Miu Miu fashion show on Monday by walking the runway wearing a leather apron, while stars like Kylie Jenner and Emma Watson watched from the front row.

The Spring 2026 ready-to-wear collection featured models in bold geometric prints, delicate florals, and eye-catching embellished aprons.

The day before, Richard shared a video of himself in a cab in Paris. 

He described feeling alone in Paris, with Frank Sinatra’s music playing in his thoughts. He enjoyed how quickly the Eurostar train transported him from one culture to another.

This recent fashion appearance follows his Burberry runway walk eight months ago, where he shared the stage with Elizabeth McGovern and Lesley Manville of Downton Abbey.

Oh my gosh, you guys, the new Burberry collection for autumn/winter 2025 is EVERYTHING! Daniel Lee said the whole vibe was inspired by those amazing old British movies and shows – you know, the cozy ones! He was also looking at the interiors of those gorgeous country houses, and honestly? It feels like it’s for people escaping London for a little weekend getaway. It’s just *so* British and perfect, I’m obsessed!

Richard shared on Instagram that at 67, he believes he was the oldest male model to appear on the Burberry runway, joining Leslie Manville, Jason Isaacs, and Elizabeth McGovern.

I was at the Pret a Porter fashion show in 1994 with Naomi Campbell, and she jokingly said, ‘Richard, I never imagined we’d be on the same runway!’ Big thanks to Burberry’s Creative Director, Daniel Lee, for making it happen.

I was so excited to see Richard at the Stella McCartney after-party during Paris Fashion Week in March! He really has a great eye for fashion, and it was lovely to see him there with Olivia Colman. He definitely knows how to enjoy a good fashion event!

Following a glamorous fashion show, the two continued their evening with a lively party at the upscale Raspoutine club in Paris.

Richard has been struggling since his wife, Joan Washington, passed away in 2021. She had been diagnosed with advanced lung cancer just eight months prior.

The couple met in 1986 and married later that year. They shared a daughter Olivia, 34. 

Richard has openly shared his sadness since the death of his partner, and he says he’s unfortunately lost some friendships while dealing with the pain.

The pair had been together for 38 years at the time of her death.

He shared that since her passing, people often avoid speaking to him, even going out of their way to cross the street when they see him. He mentioned this while speaking at The Times and Sunday Times Cheltenham Literature Festival last year.

I’m not sure what they think of me – maybe they expect me to fall apart or believe I’m a mess. But I’ve decided I’m done talking to them for good.

He remembered a time when a couple who lived near his and Washington’s French vacation home pretended not to see him when he greeted them with a wave.

As I approached, both of them looked at me. I immediately felt angry and thought, “You’re doing this on purpose.” It felt like I was being blamed for Joan’s death.

‘They had never acknowledged it. Maybe they didn’t know how to deal with it.’

In September 2021, Richard shared the sad news of his wife’s passing, along with a touching video of them dancing together.

He has since spoken about how he ‘can’t imagine falling in love again’ after the death of Joan.
