It’s been almost five years since the passing of Alex Trebek, a truly legendary game show host. Since then, Ken Jennings, the show’s all-time champion, has stepped into the host role and is doing a great job with his impressive knowledge. However, fans have one special request for Jennings as a tribute to the late host.
The official *Jeopardy!* Instagram account celebrated the start of spooky season by sharing a tribute to Alex Trebek, showcasing some of the memorable costumes he wore on the show. Fans, including one commenter named omgitsbowtie, praised him as an “absolute icon.” You can see the post here:

As a huge Jeopardy! fan, I always loved how seriously Alex Trebek took the game, but these videos really show his playful side! Seeing this post got me thinking about Halloween, and it also reminded me how long it’s been since we’ve seen Alex in a costume himself – it’s been way too long! One fan, winstondrawart, pointed that out, and I totally agree!
What I wouldn’t give to see Ken Jennings do one of these on the Halloween episode 🤞🏻🎃

Even though Ken Jennings doesn’t wear costumes anymore now that he’s the host of *Jeopardy!*, he still enjoys having fun. He often jokes about himself, especially his outfits from 2004 during his famous 74-game winning streak, which made him one of the show’s all-time top winners.
He generally takes it well when people bring up his well-known embarrassing moment – and it happens surprisingly often.
Just because he’s known for being serious doesn’t mean we wouldn’t enjoy seeing Ken Jennings in costume, perhaps as part of a puzzle or challenge. Given his love of dad jokes, it seems likely he’d be open to it – especially if it was a way to honor Alex Trebek.
It’s unclear exactly when *Jeopardy!* films its episodes, but we hope Ken Jennings saw this before they taped the Halloween show and had a chance to get a costume ready. We’re really hoping he did!
