Pokémon GO welcomes Dipplin, Hydrapple in 2025 Harvest Festival

Pokémon GO is cooking something sweet for this year’s Harvest Festival.

Pokémon GO is hosting its Harvest Festival for the third year in a row! In 2025, the event will include two Pokémon originally from Generation 9: Dipplin and Hydrapple.

Dipplin and Hydrapple are both evolutions of Applin, a Pokémon that first appeared in April. Applin is special because it’s one of the few Pokémon that can evolve into more than two different forms, earning it the nickname Apple Core Pokémon.

Of all the Pokémon that Applin can evolve into, only Dipplin has the ability to evolve again, transforming into Hydrapple. Hydrapple is a Grass/Dragon-type Pokémon resembling a multi-headed serpent, and it lives inside an apple.

Based on their types, Dipplin and Hydrapple didn’t appear to be strong opponents in PvP battles. They were particularly weak to Ice-type attacks, and also vulnerable to Bug, Dragon, Fairy, Flying, and Poison types.

Even so, if you already have an Applin with strong IVs, participating during the 2025 Harvest Festival will offer many chances to further increase its strength.

How to get Dipplin and Hydrapple in Pokémon GO

You can only get Dipplin and Hydrapple by catching an Applin and then fulfilling the conditions needed for it to evolve:

  • To evolve Applin into Dipplin, you’ll need 200 Applin Candy and 20 Syrupy Apples.
  • To evolve Dipplin into Hydrapple, collect 400 Applin Candy and equip Dipplin as your buddy. While you have a buddy Dipplin, catch seven Dragon-type Pokémon.

During the Pokémon GO Harvest Festival, you’ll see Applin appearing more often in the game, just about everywhere.

What else to expect from the 2025 Harvest Festival

When the Harvest Festival Event starts in Pokémon GO, you’ll find more apples appearing. If you tap on these apples, you might get Sweet Apples, Tart Apples, Syrupy Apples, or even run into a wild Pokémon such as Applin. Keep an eye out!

Alongside the new apple spawns, players can also enjoy the Harvest Festival and its special benefits, including these event bonuses:

  • 2x Candy for using Pinap and Silver Pinap Berries for catching Pokémon.
  • Improved chances of finding Shiny forms of Pumpkaboo and Smoliv.
  • Apples are likely to appear near PokéStops with Mossy Lure Modules.

Harvest Festival Wild Spawns

Some of the Pokémon that will pop up in the game during the Harvest Festival include the following:

  • Miltank
  • Combee
  • Smoliv
  • Applin

Unfortunately, out of all the Pokémon that appear in the wild as mentioned earlier, Applin is the only one that doesn’t have a Shiny version. This also means that any Dipplin and Hydrapple you get during this event will only be available in their standard colors.

Timed Research, Field Research, and Collection Challenges await

I just saw that you can buy a $5 Timed Research in the Pokémon GO Store! It gives you some really cool bonuses, specifically it doubles how long the Mossy Lure Module lasts. That’s going to be a huge help if you’re trying to farm up a bunch of Syrupy Apples, making it way easier to grind for them.

PokéStops will be more likely to reward you with Berries, such as Silver Pinap and Golden Razz Berries. Plus, finishing the Timed Research will give you these rewards:

  • x30 Silver Pinap Berries
  • Three Mossy Lure Modules
  • Applin encounters

Finally, those taking part in the Harvest Festival can finish different Field Research tasks and Collection Challenges to get even more rewards that are only available during the event.

Pokémon GO: 2025 Harvest Festival schedule

The Harvest Festival in 2025 will be held from Friday, October 10th, starting at 10 a.m., and will continue until Thursday, October 16th, at 8 p.m. local time.

If you like playing with other Trainers, the Campfire app is a great way to find local meetups. Plus, many Pokémon GO communities run catching contests, and sometimes these events offer special merchandise and rewards to help you progress in the game.
