Taylor Swift seemingly referenced Travis Kelce’s former girlfriend, Kayla Nicole, in her latest album, The Life Of A Showgirl. Sources suggest the lyrics contain a subtle jab at Nicole.
Fans believe the blonde lashed out on Nicole in the song Opalite.
The lyric that appears to reference Nicole, who is 33 years old, is: ‘You couldn’t understand it, why you felt alone / You were in it for real, she was in her phone / And you were just a pose.‘
The meaning seems to be that Kelce felt lonely because Nicole was distracted by fame.
In an old video dug up by fans, Kelce can be seen asking Nicole to ‘get off your phone.’
Fans were thrilled by the lyrics, with one person writing on X: ‘TAYLOR SWIFT JUST CALLED KAYLA NICOLE TF OUT IM LIVING FOR TS12 #thelifeofashowgril.’ Another fan commented, ‘Opalite– sweet song and the Kayla digs are savage.’

Swift had never publicly spoken about Kelce’s ex-girlfriend.
Nicole and Kelce had an on-again, off-again relationship between 2017 and 2022. Throughout those five years, they were frequently seen together at high-profile events.
Taylor announced her engagement to NFL star Kelce in August.
Over the last year, Nicole has faced questions regarding her relationship with her former partner, Kelce. She’s stated that she’s finished with dating athletes and now prefers to be with someone who works in the entertainment industry, like a record label executive or a movie producer.
She also has a spirited side: When online critics attacked Nicole for discussing Kelce following their breakup, she responded with, ‘Life handed me lemons and I made a lemon martini out of it and that upsets people.’
Swift also reportedly dissed Charlie XCX in one of her songs on the Life Of A Showgirl album.
This comes after claims Swift does not plan to tour again anytime soon.
The 35-year-old pop star achieved a historic milestone with her incredibly successful Eras Tour, which included 149 performances between 2023 and 2024.
However, she’s currently lost the desire to tour again, wanting any future performances to maintain the same high quality.

Talking on BBC Radio 1 Breakfast with Greg James on Friday, Taylor explained: ‘I’ll be completely honest. I’m really exhausted just thinking about doing it again, because I’d want to do it exceptionally well if I did.’
The Eras Tour generated more than $2 billion in revenue, making it the highest-grossing music tour ever. The Blank Space singer, Taylor Swift, was surprised by just how massive the concerts became.
Taylor shared: ‘It’s incredibly humbling to me that the fans built this into what it became, because the response was truly amazing for everyone involved in the tour. We were all surprised by how quickly it grew into something far beyond what we ever imagined the tour could be.’
The artist explained: ‘I realized how unusual the situation was. We’d never experienced anything similar before. I’ve been playing with my band for many years.’
My tour group – my touring family, as I like to call them, and my team… we’re all incredibly close, and have been for a long time. None of us have ever experienced anything like this before.

Taylor, whose newest album is titled The Life of a Showgirl, is happy to finally have time for hobbies like making sourdough bread now that her tour is over.
She explained: ‘I was completely focused on the Eras Tour for two years, to the point where I didn’t have time for anything else. Now that the tour is over, I’m rediscovering my hobbies… and, apparently, sharing the consequences with everyone else.’
She has explained that her songwriting has become less personal than it once was.
The Cardigan hitmaker said: ‘Last year on the tour I was physically exhausted – sick and worn down – so to spark me up I had the album as a secret passion project behind the scenes. It stopped me hitting a wall…
As a songwriter, I’ve always been pretty honest in my lyrics. But lately, I’ve shifted my approach. I’m finding I prefer telling stories with a little more space between me and the subject matter. It’s about moving away from what feels like a complete and very personal dissection of my own life. I want to explore narratives without doing a full autopsy of myself, if that makes sense. It allows for more creative freedom and a different kind of connection with listeners. I’m still being truthful, just approaching it from a slightly more removed perspective.
