Teddi Mellencamp reveals major health update amid devastating stage 4 cancer battle

Teddi Mellencamp has given fans an incredible update on her battle with stage four melanoma.

The actress, 44, initially received a melanoma diagnosis in 2022. She shared in April of this year that the cancer had progressed to stage four and spread to her lungs and brain.

Over the years, doctors removed 17 melanomas from her back. However, despite these treatments, they didn’t understand how far the disease had spread to her organs.

Following a diagnosis where she had a 50/50 chance of survival, Mellencamp shared in a moving video that her cancer is now “undetectable.”

On her podcast, Two T’s in a Pod, she shared an update: ‘I had my immunotherapy treatment yesterday, and my scans came back clear – there’s currently no detectable cancer.’

I’ll continue to have days where I don’t feel well, as I’m still undergoing immunotherapy and continuing to fight. You really have to keep fighting.

‘I’m not considered in remission or anything like that.

According to the doctors, it takes time to see results – about a year, then two, and by three years you might be considered… in remission. That was really big news yesterday.

Teddi – a mother to Slate, 12, Dove, 5, and Cruz, 11, from her marriage to soon-to-be ex-husband Edwin Arroyave – had urgent brain surgery in February to remove several large tumors.

I was so worried when they discovered the tumors – it turned out her melanoma from 2022 had spread. Thankfully, she started radiation and immunotherapy to really fight back. It’s been a tough journey, but we’re hopeful these treatments will make a difference.

Teddi didn’t go to the doctor until after she’d been experiencing symptoms from the tumors for about six months.

Teddi shared in March on her Two Ts in a Pod podcast with Tamra Judge that she had been experiencing migraines, but she pushed through the pain and continued to deal with other challenges in her life.

The former reality TV personality has been sharing updates on her treatment and how she’s recovering with her followers online.
