Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Will Reportedly Bring Back A Fan Favorite Character From The Original Series And I’m So Hyped

The Marvel Cinematic Universe regularly gives fans fresh content, both in cinemas and through Disney+. Viewers who have followed the Marvel films for years may remember that Netflix previously made several shows within the MCU, and we’ve recently seen some of those stories and characters reappear. Daredevil: Born Again is one example, and a recent report suggests a popular character will soon be back in the shared universe: Elodie Yung’s Elektra Natchios.

There isn’t much information available about Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again yet, but it appears the show will build on connections to the previous Marvel series that aired on Netflix. Many fans are hoping to see Krysten Ritter reprise her role as Jessica Jones, and there’s a report suggesting Elektra could also appear. If you need a refresher, Elektra first appeared in Season 2 of Daredevil, and then returned as a key villain in The Defenders. She shared a romantic connection with Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock, though their relationship was complicated by the dangerous criminal activity in Hell’s Kitchen. Her death in Season 2 was a big surprise, but even more unexpected was her revival by Sigourney Weaver in The Defenders. She hasn’t been seen in the MCU for quite a while, but it seems like that could be changing with Season 2 of Born Again.

The ending of The Defenders featured a kiss between Matt and Elektra right before they seemingly died when Midland Circle crumbled around them. Although Season 3 of Daredevil showed that Cox’s character actually survived, we haven’t seen or heard anything about Elektra for a long time.

Since Cox reprised his role in the MCU with Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, people have been speculating about a possible return for Elektra. It appears the upcoming second season of Daredevil: Born Again will build on the storylines from the Netflix series. With Jessica Jones reportedly making a comeback, many are hoping Elektra will join her as well.

As Marvel enthusiasts are aware, the character recently appeared in the MCU. However, it was Jennifer Garner who returned as Elektra in Deadpool & Wolverine, not Elodie. Nevertheless, many would be thrilled to see the Elektra from the Netflix Marvel series make a comeback. Therefore, we’ll need to wait and see if the information regarding Born Again Season 2 turns out to be true.

It’s exciting to see so many actors from the Netflix Marvel shows coming back to the shared universe after several years. This includes Jon Bernthal reprising his role as the Punisher, who showed up in Season 1 of Born Again and is also set to appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. We can only hope Elektra gets a similar opportunity.
