Taylor Swift’s love letter to London: Star spends her album launch day in the UK as she fangirls over Emma Bunton, proclaims her love for the city and goes house hunting

Taylor Swift’s new album The Life Of A Showgirl was released worldwide on Friday, October 3.

Instead of celebrating the launch in her home country, the US – where she has a huge fanbase – Taylor, 35, has chosen to travel to London.

The celebrity is currently in London, the capital of the United Kingdom, to celebrate the launch of their much-awaited album. They’ve been promoting it by appearing on The Graham Norton Show and various radio programs.

Taylor is also taking this opportunity to look for a house in a fashionable part of West London.

While publicizing her 12th album, Taylor Swift visited Heart Breakfast and shared her fondness for a beloved British group – the Spice Girls.

The singer was interviewed by Spice Girl Emma Bunton and co-host Jamie Theakston.

‘It’s so crazy to actually be in the same room as you because I was telling you, I had your doll, the Baby Spice doll. It was like my favourite one,’ Taylor said.

You are incredibly important to me. You were the first person I ever really felt strongly about.

‘I came to your tour twice,’ Emma said.

I was absolutely floored when Taylor told me this! She said they share a guest list with her, and she immediately spotted my name! Can you believe it? She even said she could see me from the stage! It was such an incredible moment. I’m still buzzing about it, honestly. Amazing!

‘I was standing near your parents,’ Emma explained. ‘It was a really wonderful evening, we all had such a good time. We talked for a while. It was truly an amazing night.’

At the same time, Taylor was a guest on Capital Breakfast with Jordan North and Sian Welby, and she shared how much she appreciates people in the UK.

I’ve always lived here, really,” she explained. “Except when I was traveling to Sweden, I’d come to London, and I really love it here.

I’m really enjoying my time here; I love England. It’s wonderful being able to travel and visit the places where many of my favourite authors lived and created the poems and works I admire so much.

I really enjoy your content! You’re all so funny and have a great sense of humor. You already know you’re awesome, but I wanted to say it anyway! I think you guys are the coolest. You know that and you know you guys are cool.

Taylor often talks about how much she loves London and the United Kingdom, and she’s mentioned the city in many of her songs.

Perhaps the most striking example is the song “London Boy” from her 2019 album, Lover, which details experiencing the city by visiting places like Camden Market, enjoying afternoons in Shoreditch, and going out in Brixton at night.

Elsewhere in the song, she proclaims: ‘God, I love the English.’  

In the song “So Long, London” from The Tortured Poets Department, she sings about being in a house ‘by the Heath’ and leaving ‘all I knew’.

Taylor reportedly first visited the city in 2012 while she was dating Conor, the grandson of Robert F. Kennedy.

She had a few places she loved to visit around the city, such as Hampstead Heath, which she called her ‘favourite walking spot’, and Alice’s antique store on Portobello Road in Notting Hill.

The celebrity was also photographed exiting The Spaniards Inn in Hampstead back in 2019, while she was dating Joe Alwyn. Additionally, the Kentish Delight Kebab Shop made an appearance in her music video for the song End Game.

In January 2023, Taylor was spotted leaving the Laylow Club in Notting Hill, using an umbrella to avoid the paparazzi waiting outside. She’s also been seen at The Groucho Club in Soho.

Taylor has also had relationships with a number of men from the United Kingdom throughout her career. She was notably linked to Harry Styles from late 2012 to early 2013, and many believe their romance was the inspiration behind her song Style.

She then began dating Calvin Harris in March 2015, and they were together until June 2016. However, reports indicated that their relationship ended on unpleasant terms.

The hitmaker next had a high profile fling with Tom Hiddleston who she dated in summer 2016. 

A now well-known photo shows Tom wearing a tank top with ‘I Heart T.S.‘ printed on it, taken before their relationship ended in September of that year.

She had a long-term and very private relationship with actor Joe Alwyn, dating him from 2016 until early 2023. This was one of her most significant relationships, kept largely out of the public eye.

He inspired many of her songs including Lover, Invisible String and So Long, London.

The actor also co-wrote tracks like Betty and Exile under the alias William Bowery. 

Following her breakup with Joe, Taylor briefly dated Matty Healy, the singer of The 1976. This relationship received negative reactions from fans because of Healy’s controversial past actions.

It’s also possible that Taylor’s trip to London is a way for her to create some space following the unsettling experience with a stalker.

In September, a court issued a five-year restraining order protecting Taylor from Brian Jason Wagner, a 45-year-old man.

According to legal documents, Wagner is prohibited from approaching the star’s home in Los Angeles, her car, and her workplace.

The judge additionally instructed him to avoid all communication with Swift, including personal meetings, letters, and digital methods.

The court order prohibits him from possessing firearms, ammunition, and body armor for the next five years. He is also required to turn in any that he currently has to the police.

In June, Taylor obtained a temporary restraining order against Wagner. This came after she accused him of frequently appearing at her house in May and falsely claiming she had given birth to his child.

The star claimed that he was also able to change his address on his driver’s license to her house.

Taylor also stated that he attempted to redirect mail away from her home and sent her numerous long and intimidating messages.

Wagner, who reportedly lives in Colorado, did not appear at Tuesday’s hearing.

Over the weekend, the Daily Mail reported that, even with a thorough investigation by a private detective, the person accused of stalking remains unidentified.

Yevgeny Wagner is missing, as stated in a document submitted by Brooke Berg, a licensed private investigator. She was employed by the singer to locate him.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m hearing from sources that Taylor Swift is understandably concerned about the ongoing situation with her stalker. It’s not just the fact that someone is harassing her, but the depraved lengths he’s gone to in order to invade her privacy that’s really upsetting. It’s a scary situation, and she’s rightfully worried.

The source explained that her team needs to be extremely careful because she’s been stalked repeatedly and recently found out she’s being targeted by Groyper [far-right] groups online.

On September 11th, Taylor Swift’s investigator, Berg, submitted a statement to the court explaining that Wagner hadn’t replied to text messages sent on September 8th.

In June and July, there were also efforts involving personal service and stakeouts at several addresses in Colorado where the individual was last known to reside.
