Currently streaming is one of the year’s top action films, featuring a surprising action lead – Trap and Oppenheimer star – as he makes his highly anticipated return to Hollywood. The movie delivers plenty of exciting hand-to-hand combat with a straightforward story. It’s a thrilling and funny ride, centering on a former special agent who gets stuck in a dangerous location and must fight for his life against waves of professional assassins.
The action movie, which blends the styles of John Wick and Bullet Train, is called Fight or Flight and is quickly gaining popularity after becoming available on Paramount+. James Madigan (Runaways) directed the film, and Brooks McLaren and D. J. Cotrona wrote the screenplay. The movie features Josh Hartnett, along with Charithra Chandran (Bridgerton), Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica, The Mandalorian), and Marko Zaror (John Wick: Chapter 4). It’s currently ranked at #2, just behind Liam Neeson’s The Naked Gun. The official description of Fight or Flight is available below…
Okay, so I just heard about this new movie and it sounds *amazing*! It’s about Lucas Reyes, an American agent who’s been exiled, and he gets one last shot at making things right. He’s got to find this super-secret person called The Ghost on a flight from Bangkok to San Francisco. But here’s the catch – the plane is *packed* with assassins, all trying to kill both him *and* The Ghost! They basically have to team up to survive. Seriously, at 37,000 feet, the pressure is on, and it sounds like the stakes are incredibly high. I’m definitely checking this one out! You can find more details here.
Both Critics & Audiences Heaped Praise on Josh Harnett’s “Demented” Action Hero Performance

Vertical
Many people now consider Fight or Flight to be one of the most fun action movies in recent years, and it’s officially “Certified Fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes with a score of 76%. This action comedy is unusual because critics and viewers largely agree on its quality. It also has a 74% score on the Popcornmeter. Both critics and audiences praised Hartnett’s performance as the action hero; critics called it a “go-for-broke performance,” and viewers recommended staying put during Josh Hartnett’s wild and delightfully entertaining performance in Fight or Flight.
MovieWeb’s Greg Archer really liked watching Josh Hartnett battle bad guys at 30,000 feet, and described Fight or Flight as “one of the best airplane thrillers” we’ve seen in years.
Josh Hartnett (Trap) continues to embody a charmingly rugged and attractive persona in Fight or Flight, a fresh action thriller. It successfully combines the intense, realistic action of the John Wick films with the energetic, fast-paced style of classic Jackie Chan movies. The film, helmed by James Madigan, is both explosively exciting and incredibly violent. (It’s very bloody, actually!) It stands out as one of the most compelling airplane thrillers we’ve seen lately, ranking alongside Gerard Butler’s Plane.
Josh Hartnett, who recently had a minor car accident in Canada, has a number of upcoming films and series. He’ll be acting with Anne Hathaway in the Amazon MGM Studios psychological thriller Verity, and will also be the lead in a new Netflix project with Stranger Things star Charlie Heaton and Mackenzie Davis of Station Eleven.
