Taylor Swift and Katie Price are both well-known stars who, despite never having met, share several similarities – including their careers in entertainment and highly publicized personal lives. Interestingly, both are releasing new music on Friday.
Following the success of Katie’s 2017 hit, I Got U, which surprisingly reached the top of the charts in August, she’s announced she’s returned to the recording studio to work on new music.
Following the release of Taylor’s 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, she’s revisiting her past efforts to build a music career. This comes after previous attempts didn’t achieve the success she hoped for.
She has competition, though, with Katie’s new single Best Of Me also available to buy and stream.
Although it’s highly unlikely Katie will sell more albums than Taylor, these two artists actually share quite a bit in common, perhaps more than you’d expect.
To begin with, there’s a noticeable age gap between the two singers-Katie is 47, while Taylor is 35. However, both artists rose to fame during the same period: the 2000s, often called the Noughties.

Having spent years working as a glamour model and appearing regularly on Page Three, Katie decided to pursue her long-held ambition of becoming a pop singer in 2005.
She formally announced her intention to compete for the United Kingdom with her song, Not Just Anybody. Unfortunately, the song contest proved to be highly competitive, and she experienced public embarrassment when she didn’t make it past the qualifying round. It wasn’t easy, as the competition wasn’t just for anybody, and she ultimately failed to advance. You can find more information about the contest here.
Katie quickly recovered and, the following year, released a full album created with her then-ex, successful singer Peter Andre.
The couple, who are parents to Junior and Princess, performed a rendition of A Whole New World and also titled their album after the song.
Although it didn’t immediately make Katie a singing star as she hoped, the single – and a few others – have recently become popular again and are climbing the charts.
Both I Got You and Hurricane re-entered the charts in August. The former experienced a boost in popularity thanks to a trending TikTok video, which led to Katie reaching the top spot on the official iTunes chart.
Recently, Katie shared that she’s returned to the recording studio to create more songs, boosted by the growing appreciation for her singing.

As a big fan, I’ve been tracking Katie’s progress, and according to her official Spotify artist page, she’s currently averaging a little over 41,000 monthly streams. It’s amazing to see her music reaching so many people! I really hope that number continues to grow with her new releases.
While both stars’ music careers began in the same decade, they went in vastly different directions.
On Spotify, Taylor’s official artist page shows she averages an impressive 86.6 million monthly streams. This means, on average, her music is streamed 86.6 million times each month. It’s a huge number that highlights her popularity!
By the beginning of 2025, she had reached over 100 billion total streams. She also topped the charts as the most-streamed artist of 2023, earning 26.1 billion streams on the platform.
She first became known for her music in 2006, releasing the country albums Taylor Swift and Fearless, which quickly made her famous.
Fearless won the Grammy for Album of the Year in 2008.
In 2014, her album 1989 signaled her complete move into pop music. For the rest of the decade, she solidified her position as one of the world’s biggest and most beloved pop stars. This was a pivotal moment in her career.

Although Katie and Taylor have different approaches, they are both skilled performers who consistently deliver what their fans enjoy and anticipate.
As someone who’s spent years observing personal brands, I can tell you these women absolutely understand their value. It’s not just about them, though. They keenly recognize what that influence means to advertisers – the ones with significant budgets who are eager to tap into their reach. They know what their influence is worth to those seeking to connect with their audience, and they leverage that understanding. It’s a smart move, really.
Now that Taylor is so well-known, she has the luxury of choosing the brands she partners with carefully, focusing on collaborations that genuinely reflect her values and public image. It’s about ensuring a good fit.
She has previously partnered with several major brands, including L.E.I. Jeans, CoverGirl, Elizabeth Arden (for perfumes), Diet Coke, and Apple Music as well as the NFL, securing profitable agreements with each.
Katie, previously featured in a Diesel advertisement that was later taken off the air, has also partnered with several fashion and cosmetic companies, including Superdrug, Studio London, Morphe, and Revolution.
It was recently announced that she collaborated with AI firm OhChat to legally protect her AI-generated image and bring back her “Jordan” persona in 2025.
Both women seem to share the most similarities when it comes to their well-known former partners – the list is quite extensive, like a very long red carpet. Perhaps it’s their shared experience with celebrity relationships that connects them.

Katie has been in relationships with a number of people, including Warren Furman, Dane Bowers, Ralf Schumacher, Teddy Sheringham, Scott Sullivan, Leandro Penna, Danny Cipriani, Kris Boyson, Charles Drury and Carl Woods.
Dwight Yorke is the father of her oldest son, Harvey, who is 23 years old. Harvey lives with several complex health conditions: Prader-Willi syndrome, autism, and septo-optic dysplasia, which causes blindness. He also has an underactive thyroid and a learning disability. Despite these challenges, and the fact that they do not have a relationship, Dwight Yorke remains Harvey’s father.
Recently, Peter Andre has had a falling out with Katie, and they share two children: Junior, 21, and Princess, 18. Katie was also briefly married to Alex Reid, for only 11 months between 2010 and 2011.
Kieran Hayler, who admitted to being unfaithful to Katie, shares Jett and Bunny with his ex-wife.
Taylor has dated a number of well-known figures, including Joe Jonas, John Mayer, Taylor Lautner, Jake Gyllenhaal, Conor Kennedy, Harry Styles, Calvin Harris, Tom Hiddleston, Joe Alwyn, and Matty Healy. These relationships have often been the subject of public interest.
Before dating Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift was linked to Matty Healy of The 1975, after she and Joe Alwyn ended their relationship in early 2023. This was her most recent publicized romance before Kelce.
Throughout their professional lives, Taylor and Katie have consistently faced challenges from both men and the demands of their industry.

In an interview from 2022, Katie said that men ‘are the downfall in my life’.
She stated plainly: ‘It’s pretty obvious that men have caused all the problems in my life. I’m absolutely certain of it.’
‘All my dramas, my bankruptcy – everything is men. Always men. That is it.’
As a longtime Taylor Swift fan, I remember being absolutely heartbroken when the news broke in 2019 about her falling out with Scooter Braun. It all started when he purchased the master recordings of her first six albums from Big Machine Records, the label she used to be with. It felt like a huge blow to her, and honestly, to all of us who cherish her music. It was the beginning of a really difficult time, and I’ve been following the situation closely ever since. The fact that he acquired the masters – the original recordings – was especially upsetting.
The successful musician claimed Braun engaged in ‘unethical bullying’ and used manipulative tactics when he obtained her music without her permission. This prompted Taylor to start re-recording her albums in the 2020s to reclaim control of her work.
This May, Taylor Swift revealed she had re-acquired the rights to her earlier albums from Shamrock Capital for around $360 million.
In 2017, a jury of eight people in Denver ruled in favor of Taylor in her legal case against a radio DJ who had been dismissed from his job.

She claimed that David Mueller, a former radio host, inappropriately touched her during a photo opportunity with fans in June 2013 at the Pepsi Center.
At the start of Taylor’s career, in 2009, Kayne West interrupted her at the MTV Video Music Awards.
The rapper famously interrupted Taylor – who was only 19 years old then – as she was accepting the award for Best Female Video for her song You Belong With Me. He did this because he felt Beyoncé should have won the award instead.
He famously stated at that moment: ‘Yo Taylor, I’m genuinely happy for you, I’ll let you continue, but Beyoncé’s video was truly one of the greatest videos ever made! One of the best videos of all time!’
When it comes to scandals, Taylor Swift’s reputation remains spotless. However, Katie, a mother of five, has faced well-publicized struggles for quite some time.
Katie has been in court before, and has even faced the possibility of going to jail several times because of different traffic offenses.
Back in 2003, Katie avoided a speeding ticket because the police didn’t arrest her within 12 weeks. They claimed she was driving 70mph in her Range Rover in a 40mph zone, but the delay meant she wasn’t prosecuted.
Five years after the initial incident, she received three penalty points for using her mobile phone while driving. Then, in 2009, she didn’t reveal who was driving when her car was suspected of speeding in a 30mph zone. Later, she was caught driving at 99mph and received an additional four penalty points on her licence.
The next year, she was found guilty of not properly controlling her horsebox after it drifted into another lane in February. This resulted in three points being added to her license, bringing her total to 10.
Following a period of relative calm, Katie received a six-month driving ban in February 2018 after accumulating 12 penalty points for speeding. Then, in July, pictures surfaced showing her driving despite the ban. Subsequently, in October, she was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and held for 13 hours after colliding with a VW Golf and a hedge on a private estate at 2am.
In 2019, she received a three-month driving ban after being caught driving while disqualified in January. Later that year, a five-year restraining order was issued, preventing her from contacting Michelle Penticost in any way-either directly or indirectly-following a heated argument at a school playground where abusive language was used.
After consuming alcohol and drugs, she lost control of her BMW on a rural road close to her home in West Sussex, resulting in a crash in the early morning, two years later.
She admitted to driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while banned, and driving without insurance at Crawley Magistrates’ Court. As a result, she received a 16-week prison sentence, suspended.
In 2019, Katie was officially declared bankrupt, owing £3.2m due to the failure of her company, Jordan Trading Ltd. This company was established to manage her perfume and cosmetics business.
Katie’s children warned they would cut her off completely – ‘never speak to her again’ – if she were to use cocaine, especially given her well-known struggles with substance abuse.

In 2018, Katie checked into The Priory for 28 days as a patient. Her family encouraged her to get help after she engaged in wild partying in Mallorca.
She faced a difficult conversation with her family and friends when a surprising video surfaced. The video showed her rapping the lyrics ‘I love coke’ while at a hen party where alcohol was heavily involved.
After the intervention, Katie became very upset and confessed that she required assistance to manage her erratic behaviour, which she attributed to her PTSD. She acknowledged she needed support to overcome the challenges caused by it.
I was so saddened to hear her share that she tried to end her life after going through such a difficult time. She explained it came after experiencing anxiety, depression and major trauma, all stemming from the absolutely horrific carjacking she endured back in 2018. It’s incredibly brave of her to speak out about this, and I hope she’s getting the support she deserves.
The television personality confessed she reached her lowest point following a traumatic armed rape and a suicide attempt. She lost consciousness after trying to hang herself, but then visualized her children’s faces, which made her realize she didn’t want to experience that pain again.
