Taylor Swift sings about having ‘a couple kids’ in romantic ode to Travis Kelce

In a song on her newest album, Taylor Swift expressed her desire to have “a couple kids” with her fiancé, Travis Kelce.

The 35-year-old singer released her 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl, on Friday. Many of the songs appear to be about her 35-year-old NFL player boyfriend.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following Taylor Swift’s journey, and in her song ‘Wi$h Li$t’, she really opened up about what she’s looking for in a relationship. It’s fascinating to see her be so candid! The album also includes her most daring track yet – a song playfully dedicated to Travis Kelce and, well, his manhood – and it’s clear she’s not afraid to express herself. She really detailed her desires, giving us a peek into what makes a relationship work for her.

I simply desire that / Having children has made everyone on the street resemble me / We ask the world to give us space… and it respects our wishes.

“Wow, this has me imagining a driveway with a basketball hoop. I’m thinking about getting my life together, making a list of things I want, and honestly, I just want you,” she continued.

I wished upon every star / Please, God, give me a really good friend / Someone I find attractive / I thought I’d found the right person a couple of times before, but it didn’t work out / You surprised me / I really hope my wish comes true / Because I know exactly what I’m hoping for .

Swift also released her sexiest song yet with her track Wood.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m really loving this sentiment I’m hearing in music lately! This singer is expressing such a powerful idea – she’s saying she doesn’t need to rely on superstition, like ‘knocking on wood,’ because she and her partner are creating their own positive outcomes. It’s all about believing you can ‘make our own luck’ through your connection and actions. It’s a beautiful message of empowerment and self-reliance, don’t you think? #selflove and creating your own destiny are definitely trending!

And honestly, I’ll say I used to believe in superstitions. But you broke that spell on me, like with a magic touch. It’s becoming clear that we create our own good fortune when we’re together, you and I.

She actually mentions the podcast of the NFL player and his brother, Jason Kelce, while singing a part leading up to the chorus of the song.

Reaching new levels of maturity / I don’t need luck anymore, she sings. She then continues, stating that ‘His love was the key / That unlocked my intimacy.’

Right from the start of the song, she makes a pretty clear allusion to the physical connection between herself and the football player.

‘Forgive me, it sounds cocky / He ah-matized me / And opened my eyes.’

She sings: ‘Redwood tree / It ain’t hard to see / His love was the key / That opened my thighs.’

On the ninth track of the song, she also referenced their engagement.

You know, as someone who follows trends and relationships, I always say you don’t need external signs, like catching the bouquet, mm, to sense when something significant – and potentially a little rocky – is heading your way. As Taylor Swift so perfectly puts it in the song, you just *know*.

Just hours before the official release of The Life of a Showgirl, all 12 songs were leaked online as low-quality audio files on platforms like Discord.

Almost immediately, Taylor Swift’s fans, known as Swifties, began analyzing every line of the song – both the harsh criticisms and the romantic parts – leading to intense discussions about who she might be referring to. Some wondered if the lyrics were about her fiancé, Travis Kelce, while others speculated about possible feuds with other artists like Charli XCX and Olivia Rodrigo.

As a huge Swiftie, I’m so excited about this record! It’s a really special moment – it’s her first release since getting engaged to Travis Kelce, after his incredibly sweet proposal in a garden back in August 2025. It feels like a new chapter for her, and I can’t wait to hear what she’s created. This is huge for all of us fans! I’m already counting down the days!

This marks the start of an exciting new chapter for the 14-time Grammy winner, as she has, for the first time in more than ten years, chosen not to work with her frequent collaborator, Jack Antonoff.

Rather, she collaborated on the album’s production with renowned pop producers Max Martin and Shellback, blending her insightful lyrics with their polished and commercially successful sound.

In addition to the music, Swift also revealed a striking new look for the album, inspired by the glamorous and confident style of a Vegas showgirl.

She explained that the title came from her experiences balancing the Eras Tour – a tour that lasted 21 months and set records – with working in a recording studio late at night in Sweden.

I used to perform three shows consecutively, then take three days off, fly to Sweden, and immediately return to touring. It was incredibly draining physically, but I felt so energized creatively,” Swift shared on her future husband’s New Heights Podcast over the summer. “I was simply thrilled to be making things happen.”

In August, Kelce hinted to his audience that he was completely hooked on ‘this album’ and had ‘been dancing around the house’ to it.

He told Swifties that while the new music will have a lot more upbeat, pop-influenced rhythms, it will still maintain a beautiful, lyrical quality in both the melodies and the lyrical themes. ‘It’s simply a really enjoyable listening experience,’ he added.

He also gushed his favorite track was Opalite.

Apparently, Kelce was among just five individuals given access to the new album, which has been secretly stored in a protected, encrypted folder.

The team also featured Swift’s highly effective publicist, Tree Paine, one anonymous studio engineer, and the producing duo Max Martin and Shellback, who both contributed to the music.

The Life of a Showgirl builds on the success of Swift’s 2024 album, The Tortured Poets Department, which broke numerous pre-release records.

Just last month, Taylor Swift revealed plans for a special event: a theatrical release party for her album. It will be shown in over 540 AMC theaters this weekend.

Attendees will be the first to view the brand new Fate of Ophelia music video, along with exclusive behind-the-scenes content, lyric videos, and personal stories directly from Taylor Swift herself.

The special theatrical release is slated to be 89 minutes long.

The film is projected to earn between $30 and $50 million, according to Deadline. Notably, advance ticket sales hit $15 million within just 24 hours of the announcement.

Ticket prices sit at $12 – which was decided by the award-winning performer herself.
