FKA Twigs reveals she still ‘doesn’t feel safe’ months after settling her domestic abuse lawsuit with ex-partner Shia LaBeouf

FKA Twigs has shared that she continues to feel unsafe, even after reaching a settlement in her domestic abuse lawsuit against her former partner, Shia LaBeouf, months ago.

The singer, who is 37 years old, dropped the lawsuit in July. This happened almost four years after she initially filed it, claiming the actor had abused her. The case had received a lot of public attention.

Based on legal filings, the British singer (whose birth name is Tahliah Debrett Barnett) asked to drop all accusations against LaBeouf, 39, with prejudice, which means she won’t be able to reopen the case later.

The legal case, which began in 2020, asked for $10 million to cover harm caused by claims of sexual battery, assault, and the emotional suffering experienced during the relationship between the two people involved.

Speaking out following the settlement, FKA Twigs admitted she still doesn’t feel safe.

She shared that she doesn’t feel safe, but is deeply committed to supporting survivors of trauma. She specifically mentioned her involvement with groups like Sistah Space and No More, emphasizing her desire to help in any way possible.

She further told The Hollywood Reporter: ‘I believe it’s less focused on me now, and more about what the future holds. Simply put, I’m trying to move forward with my life.

They started dating after first meeting while working on Honey Boy, Shia LaBeouf’s 2019 film which drew heavily from his life. FKA Twigs was an actress in the movie.

Her statements were made while she was photographed for the magazine’s music-themed issue, where she looked striking in a skin-toned corset.

A subsequent photo featured the artist displaying her fit body while stretching. She was wearing a Dolce & Gabbana black bra, Commando underwear, and Falke tights.

During the very same interview, Twigs shared that it makes her feel emotional when she hears audience members sing along to her songs at her shows.

She explained: ‘I created those works when I was deeply frightened-afraid for my own well-being, worried about my career as an artist, and concerned about what the future held for me as a person.’

I find myself frequently thinking about different communities – whether it’s women, transgender or queer individuals, or people of colour. These thoughts are often quite profound and keep me up at night.

When Twigs and LaBeouf reached a settlement, lawyers representing both sides stated that the issue had been resolved through a private agreement.

In a statement, they announced: ‘We are dedicated to finding a positive way to move ahead, and have therefore decided to resolve the legal matter outside of court.’

Although the specific terms of the agreement aren’t being disclosed, we both hope for happiness, success in our careers, and peaceful lives moving forward.

Twigs initially made some very concerning accusations, stating that LaBeouf deliberately gave her an STD and at one point, threatened to drive a car off the road while she was a passenger.

She also alleged he physically assaulted her at a gas station following that incident.

LaBeouf had denied many of the allegations against him.

While that was happening, FKA Twigs showed off her long legs in a short black dress, getting close to her boyfriend, Jordan Hemingway, before the Tom Ford show at Paris Fashion Week on Wednesday.

She looked absolutely stunning in the stylish outfit, which included a sparkly, jewel-covered neckline and a long, flowing train.

Standing tall with a pair of sharp black stiletto heels, Twigs seemed to add height to her already striking figure. She confidently posed for the cameras with her boyfriend, a filmmaker aged 33, whom she’s been seeing since Spring 2023.
