Kim Kardashian and her mother, Kris Jenner, are taking legal action against Kim’s former partner, Ray J, alleging defamation. This comes after Ray J made a sensational claim that the well-known family was the subject of a federal investigation.

Kim Kardashian, 44, and Kris Jenner, 69, are suing Ray J, 44, alleging he has repeatedly harassed and defamed them for over twenty years. The lawsuit, obtained by the Daily Mail, claims this behavior stems from a sex tape released during their short-lived romance in 2007 and represents a ‘sustained campaign of harassment and defamation’ against them.

As a longtime follower, I was completely stunned to learn that this lawsuit surfaced just days after Ray J made the incredible claim that he’d been collaborating with the federal government. He said they were actually building a RICO case against both Kardashian and Jenner! It’s just… unbelievable.

He also stated: ‘If anyone is friendly with Kim, they should inform her immediately because federal authorities are investigating. There’s nothing I can do to prevent it.’

I’ve heard some pretty outlandish things, but this really takes the cake. He actually said his claims – which, let me be clear, are completely unsupported – were *worse* than what’s happening with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs! It’s ironic, considering he’s still publicly defending Diddy against the accusations. Honestly, the comparison is just…wild.

The lawsuit filed by the Kardashian-Jenner family on Wednesday alleges that Ray J, still seemingly unable to move on from his brief relationship with Ms. Kardashian over two decades ago, has consistently tried to benefit from their fame and repeatedly linked himself to the Plaintiffs for personal profit.

This situation stems from Ray J’s recent and extremely harmful false statements: telling millions of people on social media that the Plaintiffs are being investigated by the federal government for racketeering. This claim is defamatory and is the basis for this action. It’s important to note the malicious intent behind this conduct.

The statement went on to say: ‘Ray J’s public claims are demonstrably untrue. There is no ongoing federal investigation, and no law enforcement agency has begun any criminal case or inquiry concerning racketeering accusations against Ms. Kardashian or Ms. Jenner. Furthermore, there is absolutely no reliable proof to back up these provocative statements.’

Okay, so like, I’ve been following this whole thing with Ray J, and honestly? It’s infuriating! He just went and publicly said these really serious things – accusing people of crimes! – without even bothering to check if they were true! He didn’t even *ask* the police – the actual law enforcement – and they would have *immediately* told him there was no investigation! It’s just… reckless! It feels like he just didn’t care about the truth at all, and legally, that’s a big deal. It’s called ‘actual malice,’ and it basically means he knowingly spread false info, and I’m just… upset about it.

He repeatedly made claims without any proof, and these damaging accusations lacked any factual support or trustworthy source. This shows a clear lack of respect for the truth and a deliberate attempt to damage the Plaintiffs’ reputations.

According to Alex Spiro, the attorney representing Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner, the Daily Mail was informed that ‘Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian have never filed a defamation lawsuit, nor have they paid attention to rumors – however, this untrue and damaging claim forced their hand.’

The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Ray J for comment and has yet to hear back. 

Just a few months ago, Ray J mentioned the Kardashians during a conversation about Combs’ sex trafficking allegations on the TMZ documentary United States V. Sean Combs: Inside the Diddy Trial on Tubi.

He expressed doubt about the accusations leveled against Combs, but instead suggested the Kardashians were to blame.

He remarked at the time, ‘I’d actually believe it if someone told me the Kardashians were facing racketeering charges.’

Adding to the ongoing discussions, Ray J revisited his history with Kardashian during an August interview with Cam Newton.

Regarding the long-term effects of the leaked sex tape, he stated: ‘That was probably the worst thing that’s ever happened to me, if you look at things from that time to the present day.

He went on to say, ‘This is the absolute worst thing anyone has ever associated with my name.’ He described it as ‘the most disgusting, the most illegal, and the most distasteful thing imaginable, especially when you have a daughter.’

Ray J and Kardashian were previously in a relationship nearly two decades ago. 

Their romance was confirmed and went public in 2007 when their infamous sex tape was leaked. 

Their relationship had previously began in 2002 when they met amid her divorce from Damon Thomas. 

She has gone through two more marriages and divorces after that. From 2011 to 2013, she was married to Kris Humphries.

And her most famous romance was with controversial rapper Kanye West from 2014 to 2022. 

She and the musician are parents to four children: daughters North and Chicago, and sons Saint and Psalm.
