When Selena Gomez married record producer Benny Blanco in a beautiful ceremony in Santa Barbara, many well-known celebrities were in attendance.

There were 170 people at the event, including Taylor Swift. One attendee described meeting her as a wonderful experience, saying she was “magical, genuine and so kind.”

Radio personality Tanya Rad shared the story of how she first met the singer, as told to her by a fellow guest on the show.

The presenter, who is 38 years old, shared that a friend connected her with Taylor Swift by telling her she had used one of Swift’s songs when she got married. She walked down the aisle to it, she explained.

During her iHeartRadio podcast, Scrubbing In with Becca Tilley, she complimented Taylor for being ‘invested and normal.’

The presenter, who tied the knot with her husband Roby Yadegar in March, asked her bridesmaid Sofia Carson to perform a rendition of Invisible String.

‘Actually, it was my first dance and I walked down the aisle to it,’ Tanya revealed. 

‘She was so kind. She loved it. She asked me what song, and she was like, “That means so much.”

It’s hard to put into words just how captivating she was – she seemed both incredibly special, like a queen, and completely authentic. She was fully present, deeply engaged, and yet somehow also remarkably down-to-earth.

The Friday before the wedding, Taylor attended a rehearsal dinner with other famous guests. This included Selena’s Only Murders in the Building co-stars, Martin Short and Steve Martin. The dinner was held at a mansion within the exclusive Hope Ranch community.

The primary wedding celebration on Saturday night took place at the beautiful Sea Crest Nursery, a 17-acre garden filled with palm trees and overlooking the Santa Barbara cliffs.

It was right there, by the powerful Pacific Ocean, that Taylor gave a deeply moving speech celebrating her cherished ‘sister.’

I heard from someone at the event that Taylor’s speech was absolutely beautiful – they said some guests were actually crying! It really doesn’t surprise me at all that Selena was one of them, reaching for a tissue and everything. It was just that moving, you know?

Throughout her heartfelt speech, Taylor explained that she and Selena have shared many experiences, both in their careers and in their personal lives. She mentioned that whenever either of them went through a difficult breakup over the years, they consistently supported each other. Taylor, known for writing about her many past relationships in her songs, shared with the audience that Selena only found love with Benny after she accepted herself and focused on being true to who she was. She explained it was ‘when Selena finally came to the realization that she was just fine with who she was and concentrated on being just her that she fell in love with Benny.’

She also mentioned that the couple were a ‘perfect pair’ – a fitting description considering Selena’s past relationship struggles with her frequently on-again, off-again ex, Justin Bieber – and stated that ‘throughout all the years she’s known Selena, she’s never witnessed her this joyful.’

Another source shared with the Daily Mail that Taylor spoke about consistently supporting Selena and viewing her as a sister. They explained that while Selena might consider Taylor the older sibling, Taylor feels Selena has taught her a great deal. It’s a relationship where they both learn from each other and have each other’s backs. This highlights the deep bond they share.

Taylor is, naturally, preparing for her wedding, as she just revealed she’s engaged to football player Travis Kelce.

Therefore, she humorously mentioned in her speech that Selena had gotten married before her, but she was happy that both of them had found their soulmates.

Taylor enthusiastically complimented Benny, calling him ‘the most perfect person’ for Selena. She then stated: ‘It wasn’t chance that brought them together, but love.’
