Keith Urban’s awkward Nicole Kidman tattoos including a nod to one of her sexiest roles

Evidence of Nicole Kidman was visibly on husband Keith Urban’s body, as Daily Mail confirms their separation after 19 years of marriage.

The 57-year-old musician had multiple tattoos honoring the 58-year-old Oscar winner, with one referencing a particularly sensual role she played. A rumor has been circulating in Nashville regarding their relationship.

Keith showed his devotion to her by getting a tattoo referencing her popular performance in the 2024 film Babygirl. He had the movie’s title inked on the back of his neck, a tribute to her critically-acclaimed role.

The provocative film focuses on Romy, a successful CEO played by Nicole, who risks everything – her job and family – when she starts a passionate relationship with her intern, played by Harris Dickinson, now 29. He is almost three decades younger than her.

Nicole had shared before that Keith showed his admiration for her sexy role by getting a tattoo. She told W Magazine in November 2024: ‘He actually has “babygirl” tattooed on the back of his neck.‘

Keith isn’t permitted to call anyone else ‘babygirl’ anymore. However, the movie has given the term a new significance. So, he’s insisting, “No, I still have complete ownership of ‘babygirl’!”

Nicole finished by saying, ‘I’m not sure if Halina Reijn, the writer and director, is aware of this, but it contributes to the magical quality of everything.’

He has a striking tattoo on his right bicep: a large design spelling out ‘Nicole’, encircled by a heart and Celtic motifs. It’s his most noticeable piece. This tattoo really stands out.

On top of everything else, the country music star has a tattoo of ‘Mary’ on his right fingers. This appears to be a nod to his longtime partner, as Mary is her middle name.

Lastly, he also reportedly has the actress’ initials ‘NMK’ also inked on his body.

That tattoo was actually done to cover up an older one. Originally, he and supermodel Niki Taylor both got tattoos of the Latin phrase ‘amor vincit omnia’ in the early 2000s. This phrase translates to “love conquers all.”

Recently, reports have surfaced explaining the separation of the former couple. It seems they’d grown distant due to busy work schedules involving filming and touring. A source previously shared with the Daily Mail that Kidman was completely surprised by the split and hadn’t seen it coming.

Kidman filed to end the marriage on Tuesday – citing irreconcilable differences.

Representatives for Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have been contacted by the Daily Mail for a statement, but have not yet responded.

The former couple share daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14. 

Nicole Kidman was married to Tom Cruise, 63, for 11 years, from 1990 until 2001. During their marriage, they adopted two children: Isabella, who is now 32, and Connor, 30.

Currently, Urban, who is renting a house in Nashville, reportedly isn’t showing any indication that he wants to get back together. Reconciliation doesn’t seem to be on his mind at the moment.

People close to Kidman share that even the idea of him being with another person following their split has been really hard for her to come to terms with.

The Australian actress and her husband, Urban, were last seen together in public in June. They were photographed at a FIFA World Cup match in Nashville, Tennessee.

The country singer has been touring extensively this year with his High and Alive World Tour. He’s scheduled to perform in Hershey, Pennsylvania on Thursday.

Nicole Kidman and her children have stayed in Nashville, at the $4 million property the couple owns.

In July, Urban suggested there were problems between him and Kidman when he abruptly ended a phone interview with a radio station. This happened after a disrespectful question about Kidman’s more provocative scenes in films like Babygirl and A Family Affair.

While promoting her Netflix show The Perfect Couple last September, Kidman shared her belief that a truly “perfect” marriage doesn’t exist.

‘There’s no perfect anything,’ she said, ‘anything that’s presented as perfect… forget it.’ 

Earlier that year, Kidman said she was ‘so lucky’ to have met the singer.

‘I’m so lucky that I have Keith who’s just my love, my deep, deep love,’ she told People magazine.

I feel very fortunate to have Keith in my life… he allows me the freedom to pursue my goals, knowing I always have a place to return to,” she explained.

The announcement of their separation follows shortly after Kidman celebrated almost 20 years of marriage with Urban, posting a touching message to the country singer on their 19th wedding anniversary.

To celebrate the event, the Big Little Lies star shared a heartwarming black and white photo of them enjoying a tender moment behind the scenes at one of his performances.

Oh my gosh, you guys, I’m *obsessed* with this picture! It shows the most amazing moment – our queen, the Oscar winner, just completely adoring her husband. She has her arm so lovingly draped over his shoulders, and he’s holding her hand! It’s everything! I can’t stop looking at it. #couplegoals, seriously!

The happy couple both closed their eyes as Kidman rested her forehead against Urban’s head. 

She wrote, ‘Happy Anniversary Baby ❤️ @KeithUrban,‘ as the caption for her post, which quickly gained over 25,023 likes-all within an hour.

Within minutes, the Somebody Like You hitmaker commented a single red heart emoji.

The couple got married in 2006 with a traditional Catholic ceremony at the Cardinal Cerretti Chapel in her hometown of Sydney.

Kidman and Urban married five years after her split from actor Cruise.

She welcomed Sunday in July 2008 and Faith via surrogate two years later. 

During an appearance on Jessica Rowe’s podcast, The Big Talk Show, the singer stated in 2022 that he and his wife live a remarkably ordinary life, just like everyone else.

I remember him sharing the story of how they first met at the G’Day LA event back in 2005. He actually admitted he thought the stunning Hollywood star was well out of his league at the time! It’s so relatable – we all feel a little intimidated when we meet someone we really admire, right? It’s a sweet story about how far they’ve come.

We’re a couple who navigate life’s challenges together, offering each other support and doing our best to raise our family,” Urban said.

He thought they were pretty ordinary people, all things considered. He then added that he hadn’t been doing very well personally when they first got together – he was ‘not in a great place’ at the time.

‘[She] seemed well out of my league at that time in my life,’ he said.

I was going through a difficult time, dealing with many challenges, and I never imagined anyone would see potential in me… The way things turned out, becoming what they are today, is truly remarkable.

He lovingly described his wife as being both ethereal and angelic, almost otherworldly and mystical, but also remarkably grounded and very funny.

Just last year, Urban shared how close he came to ending his marriage, not long after the wedding. He described a time when things almost fell apart soon after they got married.

We married in 2006, but just four months later, the addictions I hadn’t addressed seriously caused our marriage to fall apart,” he explained while presenting at the AFI Life Achievement Award Gala Tribute to Kidman last year.

The father of two, who has spoken before about growing up with a father who drank heavily, has said it was a long process to achieve sobriety because he didn’t realize he had a problem with alcohol.
