Gwyneth Paltrow, 53, shares the spotlight with nepo baby daughter Apple Martin, 21, in GapStudio campaign

Gwyneth Paltrow and her daughter, Apple, are collaborating on a new fashion campaign for GapStudio.

The pair modeled outfits from GapStudio’s Fall/Winter 2025 line, a collection designed by Zac Posen for Gap.

However, the campaign showcased more than just the clothes the models were wearing; it also provided a look into the relationship between Gwyneth, 53, and Apple, 21.

The Academy Award winner explained how Apple got its name, sharing that her former spouse, Chris Martin, actually came up with the idea.

In addition, the playful student from Vanderbilt University admitted to taking clothes from her mother’s closet.

Her father actually chose the name, Gwyneth explains. ‘It really suits her – I can’t picture her with any other name,’ she says, then raves about her daughter’s taste in clothes. ‘She has incredible, unique style.’

She described her style as ‘simple, but with a unique touch’, adding that she also incorporates ‘pieces from her mother’s wardrobe’.

‘She goes and takes a lot of my ’90s clothes,’ Gwyneth explains.

‘I don’t know if it’s stealing, but I’m stealing it,’ Apple says, finishing in a whisper.

Gwyneth adds, ‘I’ve been watching her fashion sense grow and change.’ She notes, ‘She really knows what looks good on her and has a very distinct style.’

She also shared how much I appreciate her for being her authentic self, saying, ‘She knows how much I love her for exactly who she is,‘ and that the greatest guidance she could offer is simply to ‘unabashedly be herself.’

Several comments noted Apple looked like her mother and was described as the ‘perfect combination’ of Gwyneth and Chris.

‘Apple is the perfect combination of her parents! Gorgeous,’ one posted.

‘Gwyneth said, “hey DNA, COPY + PASTE” !!’

One suggested she got the modelling gig on account of her famous parents.

‘Did somebody say nepotism….?’ another wrote.

This recent modelling project is simply the newest creative effort Apple has taken on in the past few weeks. It’s part of a string of fashion-related initiatives the company has been exploring recently.

Earlier this month she was announced as the face of London-based brand self-portrait.

Apple is now part of a growing trend of celebrities sharing self-portraits, joining stars like Emily Ratajkowski, Gigi Hadid, Naomi Campbell, Irina Shayk, Bella Hadid, Kate Moss, Jisoo, and Phoebe Dynenvor.

Many famous faces have been seen wearing the brand, including Beyoncé, Olivia Rodrigo, Michelle Obama, BlackPink, Paris Hilton, Selena Gomez, Cynthia Erivo, and Gigi Hadid, among others.

In between her modeling efforts, Apple is busy with her studies at Vanderbilt University.

Apple, a junior at the Nashville school, told Interview magazine in April that she’s majoring in law, history, and society, but might also take a theater course before graduating.

She explained that things are hectic right now, as she has tech week right after spring break and needs to finish preparing all the costumes for the performance, she added.

She’s also been really enjoying the atmosphere at college: ‘Vibes are great, honestly. It’s so much easier for me to get out of bed and go to class when the weather is nice. Um, yeah,’ she explained.

And Martin is involved in a show at the Vanderbilt Original Cast, a well-respected cabaret group. This semester, they’re performing a musical comedy that pokes fun at the show Love Island, titled Love on an Island. He says it’s really enjoyable and the songs are amazing.
