TMZ said on Monday, September 29th, that the couple has officially separated. They had been living separately for a while, and Nicole Kidman has been raising their two children at their home in Nashville.
Singer-songwriter Urban, who has won four Grammy Awards, is said to have moved to a city in Tennessee. It’s not yet clear if or when he and his spouse will begin divorce proceedings.

Although both Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are Australian – though Keith was actually born in New Zealand – they didn’t first meet in Australia. They connected after attending the G’Day gala in Los Angeles, an event designed to celebrate and promote Australian culture in the United States.
Despite quickly becoming close, Kidman shared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2017 that Urban didn’t contact her for the next four months, even though she was already developing feelings for him – she had a “crush on him”.
May 2006: Engagement after living together in New York City
So, after they first met, Keith Urban didn’t actually call Nicole Kidman for about four months! But then, sometime in 2005, they reconnected and started living together in New York City. I was reading an interview with him in PEOPLE, and he talked about this really sweet moment in their relationship – it was so cute!
She remembered that it was her [38th] birthday when he was waiting outside with gardenias at 5am on her doorstep in New York. “That’s when I realized he was the man I wanted to marry,” she said in 2019.

She actually announced it herself on May 15th while at a gala celebrating the 30th anniversary of the United Nations Development Fund for Women. A source has told both TMZ and PEOPLE that the couple has ended their 20-year relationship, with reports indicating the decision primarily came from Keith Urban. Neither of them has publicly confirmed the breakup yet.
