He has been Hollywood’s ultimate heartthrob for decades.
However, George Clooney, 64, recently mentioned he’s starting to slow down his work as an actor because he values spending more time with his children.
The veteran actor, director, and producer stated that focusing on large-scale projects is no longer his main goal.
Clooney said: ‘I am not in that mad rush to succeed anymore.’
My career has taken many turns, and things were naturally slowing down. Now, I’m able to spend a lot more time with my kids, and it’s really enjoyable.
‘I’m still at an age where I can keep up with them. That ability is fading fast, though. Luckily, I can still do it now, so I’m really enjoying myself,’ he shared with Fox’s Extra.

Clooney, speaking at the New York Film Festival premiere of his new film, Jay Kelly, shared that he spent the last ten years prioritizing work in Hollywood over time with his children.
George Clooney, known for his role in Ocean’s Eleven and father to 8-year-old twins Alexander and Ella with his wife Amal, stated: ‘This isn’t simply a life in the entertainment industry.’
Oh my gosh, it’s *so* common, you wouldn’t believe it! I hear it *all* the time, and it feels like every single profession has this exact same regret. People are always saying, “I really wish I hadn’t missed that important thing my kids were doing because I was stuck working.” It just breaks my heart to hear it, honestly. It’s like, everyone feels that pull, you know? And it’s just… relatable. I’ve even seen articles about it! It’s a universal parent thing, I swear!
‘It is coming to terms with the sacrifice you make to succeed in any business.’’
The film Jay Kelly centers on the bond between a well-known actor, played by Clooney, and his manager, portrayed by Adam Sandler. As they journey across Europe, they contemplate their lives, relationships, and past regrets.
George Clooney, who first became well-known in his thirties with his role on ER, emphasizes that his own career path is very different from Kelly’s character’s experience of having an ‘existential crisis’ in the comedy drama.
Oh my gosh, he actually *said* this! He was like, ‘It’s not even a concern for me, honestly. I didn’t hit my stride until way later in life. It’s just…easier to deal with stuff when you’re older, you know?’ I just love how calmly he puts it! It’s so insightful! He’s totally right, isn’t he? I mean, he’s so wise. I’m just obsessed with everything he says, and this…this is just *perfect*. It gives me so much hope! Seriously, it’s amazing.
Oh my gosh, I was *there* at the Jay Kelly premiere – it hits cinemas November 14th, you guys! And he arrived with his wife, his amazing human rights lawyer, who looked absolutely incredible. She’s 47, can you believe it? She was wearing this stunning red mini dress – seriously, it was to die for! The top and skirt were velvet, but with the prettiest floral detailing. I couldn’t take my eyes off her, it was perfect!
The pair recently celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary with an intimate dinner.
When asked about his plans for an event in 11 years, he playfully responded: ‘I’ll probably be eating soft foods – just gumming bread – because I’ll be 64 then, making me 75 years old.’
The film boasts a remarkable cast, including Oscar winners Laura Dern and Jim Broadbent, alongside Riley Keough, Isla Fisher, Billy Crudup, and Greta Gerwig, the director of Barbie.
Adam, 59, was joined by his family for the premiere, held during the New York Film Festival.

The comedic legend traded in his usual eccentric fashion for a more polished appearance on the red carpet, sporting a sharp suit and shiny shoes.
He was joined by his wife, Jackie Sandler, 51, and their two daughters, Sunny, 16, and Sadie, 19.
Riley looked stunning in a beautiful black dress with layers and a flirty slit. The dress also featured eye-catching details around the chest and waist.
Laura Dern also sported an edgy all-black look, an enchanting lace dress with matching cape.
Although Amal was there to support her husband, she’s well-known for her successful legal work – she’s represented many important people, such as former Maldivian president Mohamed Nasheed and WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.
Born in Beirut, she relocated to the UK at age two to avoid the Lebanese War. Currently, she serves as an adjunct law professor at Columbia Law School and a Visiting Professor of Practice at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford.
