On Monday, Keanu Reeves was seen helpfully carrying luggage for his partner of seven years, Alexandra Grant, as she got ready to fly from Manhattan to Los Angeles.
The 52-year-old artist, who will be at a Roxane Gay event at Occidental College this Tuesday, gave a warm hug to the 61-year-old actress from The Matrix before she left for the airport in a black SUV.
Keanu – who recently stated he isn’t married – appeared a bit untidy, wearing a black hoodie with brown corduroy pants and beige suede slippers.
Keanu Reeves wore a red baseball cap promoting ARCH Motorcycle, the company he started with Gard Hollinger back in 2011. He blew Alexandra a kiss and made a heart shape with his hand.
On Sunday evening, Grant offered warm support to the award-winning producer – who has an International Emmy – at the premiere of his Broadway production, Waiting for Godot.
Keanu, with help from stylist Jeanne Yang, looked sharp in a black blazer paired with a white shirt, a silver tie, and grey pinstripe trousers. He finished the look with some rugged, dirty brown hiking boots.

However, when fans viewed a video of Reeves arriving at the Hudson Theatre in Midtown, they became worried about his health.
‘He looks so skinny. It is worrisome,’ Instagram user @sondraschalk commented.
Over the past few years, he’s become noticeably and worryingly thin. I hope he isn’t sick. He used to look so handsome while filming John Wick. I wonder what’s going on?
Instagram user @almanza_lvhomes felt the Beirut-born Canadian could have presented a more refined appearance: ‘I understand wanting to seem humble, but seriously, take a shower, get a haircut, and wear a new suit and shoes.‘
“Wow, he could have tried a little bit harder with how he looks,” Instagram user @dionfermin commented. “Just a small amount of effort would have done.”
Instagram user @fj80triplelocked shared: ‘He really had to dig for that suit – it was at the very bottom of the laundry basket! He hardly ever wears it. He’s just someone who likes to be free and do his own thing.’
‘Keanu I love you,’ Instagram user @francadicocco wrote. ‘But you need a new look!’
Keanu Reeves has fully committed to embodying his character, the down-on-his-luck wanderer Estragon, for director Jamie Lloyd’s new production of Samuel Beckett’s 1952 surrealist tragicomedy. The play is scheduled to run until January 4, 2026. He’s really transformed to match the character’s appearance.
The reviews are in for Reeves’ Broadway debut and they’re not great.
According to a review by New York Post critic Johnny Oleksinski, Keanu Reeves’ performance is somewhat raw. Oleksinski notes that Reeves delivers Gogo’s lines with pace and a light, airy quality, but doesn’t add much depth or significance to them.

These are simply lines that are recited as if they hold the weight of sharing a deeply personal detail, like a Social Security number. An actor’s blank expression can be very effective – it works wonders when they’re portraying an assassin in a movie. However, that same technique doesn’t translate as well to the stage.
Film critic David Rooney noted that the actor effectively uses awkward physical comedy. However, his characteristic detached, monotone delivery – which worked so well in films like John Wick, as well as classics such as Speed, Point Break, The Matrix and My Own Private Idaho – makes his character, Gogo, seem less emotionally deep than the other.
Even when he proposes drastic measures like suicide by hanging or makes bleak statements such as: “It would be better if we parted. The best thing would be to kill me,” his Gogo remains a simple, undeveloped character.
Theater critic Jonathan Mandell from New York also observed that the energy in his recent performances seemed to be missing. He wrote: ‘The spark from his best performances isn’t there, as if he’s cowed at the profundity of it all, or too respectful of the play’s significance.‘
Film critic Greg Evans offered a more positive review, stating: ‘Reeves, as the saying goes, is undeniably Reeves – a remarkably charismatic actor who relies more on presence than overt acting, yet consistently commands the audience’s attention (and earns their fondness).’
Yes, even when he appears to be overdoing it – trying to sound booming and forceful, getting visibly upset, or acting out in a silly, exaggerated way – we still find ourselves hoping he succeeds.

As a huge fan, I was thrilled to see Dogstar’s vocalist and bassist reconnect with Alex Winter, his old co-star from the Bill & Ted trilogy! It was amazing seeing Alex portray the thoughtful Vladimir in Waiting for Godot.
Keanu Reeves is set to play the angel Gabriel in Good Fortune, Aziz Ansari’s first feature film as a director. The movie, which also stars Seth Rogen, Keke Palmer, and Sandra Oh, will be released in US and UK cinemas on October 17.
Keanu Reeves has several other projects in the works, such as the highly anticipated sequel to Constantine, directed by Francis Lawrence. He’s also starring in Outcome, a dark comedy series for Apple TV+ helmed by Jonah Hill, and The Entertainment System Is Down, a satirical black comedy from Ruben Östlund.
