A revealing video has reappeared showing a visibly upset Keith Urban following his separation from Nicole Kidman.
This week, Daily Mail confirmed that the 58-year-old Oscar winner and musician are separating, bringing an end to their almost two decades together as a married couple.
Last June, 57-year-old Keith surprised everyone at the AFI Life Achievement Award Gala, where they were celebrating Nicole, by openly sharing that his struggles with addiction nearly ended his marriage.
He started by saying, “We were married in 2006, but just four months later, the addictions I hadn’t addressed destroyed our marriage.”
Keith admitted he was battling addiction at the time he met Nicole.
With her support, he eventually managed to pull through.

Just four months after getting married, I found myself in rehab for three months, completely unsure about the future of our relationship.
‘Nic pushed through every negative voice – I’m sure even some of her own – and she chose love.
‘And here we are tonight 18 years later. Her capacity to love is like no one I’ve ever met.’
After hearing her husband’s moving speech, Nicole became emotional in the audience, wiping away a tear as he spoke from the heart.
Keith has dealt with addiction to drugs and alcohol in the past. This was something he openly shared over time, and led to Nicole organizing an intervention to support him in getting sober.
The father of two, who previously shared that he witnessed his father’s struggles with alcohol growing up, told Rolling Stone in 2021 that achieving sobriety was a lengthy process. He explained that he didn’t realize he had a problem with alcohol for quite some time.
‘I didn’t drink like my dad, so I compared everything to him,’ he said.
I ultimately made a decision I felt was right for me, one I wish my father, Robert Urban (who passed away in 2015), had been able to make as well.

Even though Keith has struggled with substance abuse in the past, he recently described listening to Ariana Grande’s new and popular song, We Can’t Be Friends, as being like ‘audible heroin‘.
The joke apparently bothered Nicole because it reminded her of a difficult period in their relationship, when they were close to breaking up.
“Nicole wouldn’t have directly requested he remove a post, but she was upset about it,” a source shared with Woman’s Day.
In a 2016 interview with Rolling Stone, Keith admitted he would have accepted it if Nicole had decided to end their marriage following his time in rehab in 2006. He explained that they had only been married for a short time that year, so he understood if she’d chosen to leave.
‘I was very, very blessed to have Nic call an intervention on me,’ Keith said, adding that his reckless behaviour ’caused the implosion of my fresh marriage’.
He also thought about the intervention Nicole arranged for him with Oprah Winfrey, telling the well-known talk show host that he’d lost control and really needed support and a fresh start in his life.
‘The atmosphere in that room at that time felt perfectly loving,’ Keith shared with Oprah. ‘Witnessing love expressed so openly… it was a completely new experience for me.’
Regarding Nicole’s choice to remain with him during his third time in rehab within eight years, Urban admitted that, looking back, ‘she really should’ve just left.’

I’m really relieved she didn’t go through with it, and instead chose to change course and ultimately start this process of help,” he explained.
He issued a statement at the time, saying: ‘I am truly sorry for the pain this has caused Nicole and everyone who cares about and supports me. Maintaining one’s recovery is something you can never take for granted, and unfortunately, I didn’t do that.’
In 2007, Nicole shared with Vanity Fair that they had been going through a really difficult and painful time, but they successfully navigated it together.
According to reports, the singer had a prenuptial agreement stating that Kidman would pay him $600,000 (AU$911,868) annually for each year of their marriage.
All he had to do was steer clear of drugs and alcohol.
Whether his brief time in rehab right after they got married violated their agreement-or a specific part of it-isn’t known, but the resulting payout would now be $11.4 million (AUD $17.3 million).
On Monday, Daily Mail reported that Nicole and Keith have separated, bringing an end to their 19-year marriage and shared life with their two children.
Due to their busy work with filming and touring, they haven’t been able to spend much time together recently – but a source suggests there’s still a chance they could get back together.

According to a source, Keith and Nicole rarely see each other because either she’s working on a film set or he’s traveling for concerts. Despite the strong affection they once shared, and the possibility they won’t divorce, they lead separate lives where they don’t really share the same space. It’s as if they exist in different worlds.
Keith and Nicole have been a couple for many years, and while it’s possible for them to find their way back to each other, their current relationship isn’t functioning like a healthy couple. There’s a path to reconciliation, but they aren’t there right now.
The former couple share daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.
