Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban were once known for their passionate public displays of affection, frequently turning heads on Hollywood red carpets. However, sources close to the couple say their relationship has become noticeably less passionate in recent months.
Following the Daily Mail’s report on Monday that actress Nicole Kidman, 58, and country singer Keith Urban, 57, have unexpectedly separated after 19 years of marriage and raising two children, insiders indicate that a decline in intimacy – coupled with their demanding careers – was the main reason for the breakup.
‘Keith never sees Nicole, either she is filming or he is on tour,’ one source tells the Daily Mail.
Oh my gosh, I really hope they don’t get divorced! I mean, they’ve been together for decades, you know? There’s so much history there, and I truly believe they could work things out. I can just *feel* the love they still have for each other. But honestly? Right now, the way things are… it just doesn’t feel like they’re a couple anymore. It’s heartbreaking, but there’s still a chance, a whole world of possibility for them to reconcile, I just know it!
Sources say Urban was the driving force behind the separation, as his dissatisfaction with the marriage led him to confront Kidman. However, Kidman was reportedly completely surprised by his actions, according to the source. He essentially initiated the split by ‘calling her out’, while she was ‘blindsided’ by his intervention.

Ubran’s main complaint appears to have been an increased coldness between the couple.
There’s a lack of emotional connection; they’re simply going through the motions [of marriage]. The source added that if this time apart helps them reconcile, that would be wonderful, but Keith needed to tell her he was unhappy.
Honestly, I was really surprised by everything that happened, but I’m keeping an open mind and seeing how things unfold, especially with the holidays just around the corner and his birthday next month. It’s clear they’ve got some things to work through, and I’m hoping they can make it happen.
The Daily Mail reached out to representatives for the pair who have been unavailable for comment.
Kidman and Urban share daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.
Someone close to the Australian actress shared that she’s been the primary caregiver for the children and has been keeping the family stable during this challenging period, while Keith Urban has been traveling.
The country singer has been traveling with his High and Alive World Tour since May. He’s scheduled to perform in Hershey, Pennsylvania on Thursday.
Kidman and the children, meanwhile, have been living in a stately London home.
The actress is currently in England filming the follow-up to her 1998 film, Practical Magic. She’s reportedly spending £65,000 (about $87,000) per month to rent a lavish home in Hampstead that formerly belonged to pop singer Boy George.

Although Kidman relocated to London for professional reasons, the move has definitely caused some surprise among people back home in Australia.
According to a source who spoke with Woman’s Day earlier this month, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban try to talk daily when they are separated. However, the insider noted it’s surprising how much time they’ve spent apart, especially since Nicole’s mother passed away last September.
It feels like they’ve both moved on with their lives. Currently, she’s settling into a beautiful home in London, which is quite far away.
In July, Urban subtly suggested there were problems between him and Kidman. He abruptly ended a phone interview with a radio station after they asked a disrespectful question about raunchy scenes in her recent films, like Babygirl and A Family Affair.
While promoting her Netflix show The Perfect Couple last September, Kidman shared that a truly ‘perfect’ marriage doesn’t actually exist. She admitted this while discussing the series.
‘There’s no perfect anything,’ she said, ‘anything that’s presented as perfect… forget it.’
Oh my gosh, can you believe Nicole Kidman was married to Tom Cruise for *eleven whole years*? From 1990 to 2001! It feels like a lifetime ago, but I still have all their old photos! And the sweetest part? They adopted two children together. It just proves they were meant to be, even if it didn’t last. I’m obsessed with their history!
