Have the Peltz-Beckham-Gomez ‘throuple’ divorced? Why Nicola says she WASN’T at Selena’s wedding amid rumours of a split

They were once so close that they referred to themselves as a ‘throuple‘. 

However, when Selena Gomez married Benny Blanco on Saturday, surrounded by her closest friends and family – Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz were noticeably absent.

The couple is said to have invited 170 guests to the wedding, such as Selena’s close friend Taylor Swift, her fellow actors Martin Short and Steve Martin, Paris Hilton, and Ed Sheeran.

People started talking about their not being there, especially since Selena also missed their vow renewal earlier this month.

The mystery surrounding their disappearance deepened when Gordon Ramsay sent a congratulatory message to David and Victoria Beckham – who, it’s worth noting, have been distant from Brooklyn and Nicola after several months of disagreements.

However, someone with knowledge of the events has stated that Nicola and Brooklyn could not attend due to unavoidable circumstances.

I heard from the Daily Mail that Nicola is really focused on getting ready for a new acting job right now, so she couldn’t be reached for comment. She and Brooklyn, though, definitely want to send all their best wishes to Selena and Benny! It’s so exciting to see what she’s up to, and I’m sure she’ll be amazing.

Gordon wasn’t present at the ceremony either, but he connected with Selena after being a guest on her cooking show, Selena + Chef, which first aired in 2020.

He immediately expressed his affection for the singer on social media after Selena posted a picture from her wedding. It happened quickly after she shared the photo.

Gordon commented: ‘So happy for the both of you. Congrats !Gx’ 

Selena, Nicola, and Brooklyn became very close friends over the last few years. The singer highlighted their strong connection in 2023 when she playfully suggested they were a ‘throuple’ – a term for a non-traditional romantic relationship involving three people.

Despite their once-common photos together, Selena’s public appearances with music producer Benny, which began two years ago, led to a decrease in those shared images.

A report in The Sun over the summer indicated that Selena and Benny were reportedly frustrated with Nicola’s demanding behavior. This appeared to be confirmed when the former Disney star didn’t attend Nicola and Brooklyn’s second wedding ceremony in August.

However, at the time an insider refuted this point. 

According to an insider who spoke with the Daily Mail, Selena and Benny are still on good terms with Nicola and Brooklyn; there hasn’t been any disagreement or conflict between them.

They remain friends. Regarding the vow renewal, Selena can offer her congratulations privately. She believes she isn’t required to publicly validate her friendships with an online post or comment.

But it was a vastly different story nearly three years ago.

Selena used to share lots of pictures and videos on social media showing how close she was to the couple. These included fun times like sleepovers, fancy vacations, and sweet birthday messages.

However, her latest post including Nicola was part of a collection of photos shared in December. Meanwhile, Nicola’s most recent post with Selena was from Benny’s birthday celebration in March 2024.

Additionally, Nicola and Brooklyn used to regularly like almost all of Selena’s posts on Instagram, but now they’ve stopped interacting with her content – becoming passive followers of the Rare Beauty founder, even while celebrating significant moments in their own lives.

After her 95-year-old grandmother, affectionately known as ‘Naunni’, passed away in 2024, Nicola honored her cherished family member on the anniversary of her death in May.

Although Selena had previously liked Nicola’s Instagram post about her grandmother’s passing last year, she didn’t appear among those who liked or commented on Nicola’s more recent post honoring her grandmother.

Selena didn’t publicly acknowledge the couple’s celebration either, even when they shared a heartwarming Instagram post marking their third wedding anniversary in April.

But it’s not just Selena who’s been the silent one.

Now, when Selena launched her album with Benny last March and celebrated the five-year milestone of her incredible mental health charity, the Rare Impact Fund, I noticed Nicola and Brooklyn stayed pretty quiet. They didn’t really say anything publicly about either event, which, as someone who keeps an eye on these things, I found a little interesting. It was a noticeable absence of support, given their usual social media presence. It definitely sparked some conversation among those following the story.

To people not involved, it appears the once-loving throuple is no longer together.

However, sources close to Selena, Nicola, and Brooklyn emphasized that their posts on social media shouldn’t be taken completely seriously, because what people share online doesn’t always accurately represent their real lives.

Daily Mail has contacted Nicola, Brooklyn and Selena’s representatives for comment. 

The actress initially became friends with Nicola and Brooklyn after meeting them at the Academy Museum Gala in October 2022.

They clicked immediately, and just a month after meeting, they were already sharing Thanksgiving together.

Nicola’s brother, Bradley Peltz, was also present at the Thanksgiving celebration. He was previously rumored to have dated Selena, which strengthened her connection with Nicola.

The three of them celebrated the new year together with a trip to Los Cabos, Mexico, in January 2023.

Everyone posted lots of pictures from their fancy yacht trip. Selena and Nicola showed how close they are by getting the word ‘angel‘ tattooed on their forearms, both in cursive writing.

Selena shared a series of photos from their trip to Mexico on Instagram. One photo showed the actress cuddling with a married couple and joining them in a group hug.

She joked in the caption: ‘Fine calls us a throuple #foreverplusone’.

She really emphasized what a kind person Selena is, calling her someone with a ‘heart of gold.’ It just perfectly captures their beautiful friendship, and I’m always so happy to hear them speak so fondly of each other. She described her as a truly remarkable person – one of the best she’d ever encountered. She added that this person was incredibly kind, and felt like a lifelong friend, saying, ‘I feel like I’ve known her forever,’
