Trigger Point, the exciting crime drama from ITV, has hinted at the beginning of a dangerous feud in some newly released photos. ITV shared these pictures and a fresh trailer for the third season today (September 29th).
The series features Vicky McClure as Lana Washington, a skilled bomb disposal expert who previously served in the military. It depicts her transition as she applies her expertise to a new position with the Metropolitan Police.
The third series, with six new episodes, brings back Lana and her skilled bomb disposal team as they begin to investigate a bomb threat that quickly unfolds into the beginning of a dangerous and personal vendetta.
What to Read Next
According to the plot summary, a person is intentionally attacking people seeking retribution. Therefore, the Bomb Disposal Squad needs to collaborate with the Police Counterterrorism Unit in a critical effort to find the bomber before they hurt anyone else.
Returning for season three, alongside McClure, are cast members such as Eric Shango, Nabil Elouahabi, Natalie Simpson, and Maanuv Thiara. They will all be reprising their previous roles.

So, all the actors we’ve been talking about are in the new photos, and guess what? Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels‘ Jason Flemyng is going to be a guest star in the next season! I’m really excited to see him join the cast. It’s going to be awesome!
In addition to sharing new photos, ITV has unveiled a short preview trailer for season three of Trigger Point. The trailer suggests the new season will be a thrilling and tense watch for viewers.
In this fast-paced, 60-second video, you’ll follow Lana and her team of bomb disposal experts – often called EXPOs – as they work to protect London from terrorism and dangerous explosives.

The trailer shows a black cab containing a driver who is caught in a dangerous situation-the vehicle has been rigged with an explosive. As Lana communicates over the radio, she states: “There is a chemical weapon in the cab.”
It quickly becomes clear that the team is hunting a serial killer who deliberately inflicts pain on their victims, while Lana strives to apprehend the perpetrator.
I’m so excited to hear that Trigger Point is coming back for a third series! It’s going to air on ITV1 and STV, and you’ll also be able to stream it on ITVX and STV Player. We don’t have a date for when it will be released just yet, but the good news is you can catch up on series one and two right now on ITVX. And get this – they’ve already ordered a fourth series, which is planned for 2026!
The second series of Trigger Point was on earlier this year, in early 2024. It’s great to know that Line of Duty’s Jed Mercurio is involved as an executive producer – he really knows how to make a gripping show!
Trigger Point airs on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
