HoYoverse has revealed that Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.3, called “Memories of Dreams Bygone”, is launching on October 15, 2025. The update will include a continuation of the story, a new group called the Spook Shack, an entirely new area to explore, updated gameplay mechanics, new character outfits, fun in-game events, and additional gifts for all players.

Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.3 kicks off with haunted stories and new Agents

With Version 2.3, Proxies will venture into the Timesworn Hills, a brand new and enigmatic Hollow area. This region is packed with deserted research labs, secret ruins, and unsettling stories. Locals tell of lost miners, the eerie ringing of phantom bells, and hypnotists who ensnare people in never-ending dreams.

To help face these threats, three new Agents from Spook Shack are added:

  1. Lucia (S-Rank Ether Support): A devoted Ethereal fan who uses dreamlike powers. She gathers Dream Points to enter a Dream State, unleashing Ether Veil: Wellspring to increase allies’ HP and boost team damage through increased Sheer Force and triggering Aftershocks.
  2. Yidhari (S-Rank Ice Rupture): A powerful fighter whose ice attacks always deal Sheer DMG based on her max HP. Her strength grows as her HP drops, rewarding a good balance of HP loss and recovery.
  3. Komano Manato (A-Rank Fire Rupture): Delivers Sheer DMG strikes that scale from his max HP. You can also unlock him for free through the upcoming event.

In addition to the new characters, Vivian (S-Rank Ether Anomaly) and Ju Fufu (S-Rank Fire Stun) will be featured again in returning banners.

New events and gameplay features in Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.3

This update includes both challenging and enjoyable events. Threshold Simulation is a new game mode where you send out several teams to complete linked combat challenges. The When Dreams Remain Unfinished event features turn-based battles, allowing you to command various types of monsters, each with special abilities.

Finishing this event will give you Agent Manato as a free reward. The well-loved photography event SNAP! Shining Strike is back too, and it’s been improved! You’ll find enhanced camera controls, more filters to choose from, and new frames to make your photos look even better.

Other updates and additions

With Version 2.3, Soldier 0 – Anby is getting improved combat abilities and a performance increase. These changes will help her perform even better and give teams more options when building their strategies.

This update brings fresh styles for two Agents. Vivian is getting a completely new outfit based on a special theme, and Manato will receive a different look inspired by his appearance in the Spook Shack.

With this update, players will receive 600 Polychromes, 10 Encrypted Master Tapes, and 10 Boopons at no cost. Additionally, HoYoverse has hinted at what’s coming next, announcing that Banyue, Dialyn, Zhao, and Ye Shunguang will become playable characters in future game updates.
