Strictly star Chris Robshaw’s wife Camilla Kerslake ignites fresh feud as she takes a swipe at ‘experienced dancers’ on the show

Strictly Come Dancing star Chris Robshaw’s wife has started a new disagreement by publicly criticizing dancers with more experience on the show, which has already been dealing with controversy.

The BBC show has received feedback from viewers who believe some of the celebrity contestants have an unfair edge. This is because West End performer Amber Davies and Emmerdale actor Lewis Cope both have experience with dance training.

On Saturday’s live show, Chris danced the Samba with his professional partner, Nadiya Bychkova, to EMF’s song “Unbelievable.” Unfortunately, their performance earned them only 14 points, placing them second to last on the leaderboard.

Camilla seemed to share what she thought about the situation when she responded to a comment from Love Island star Amber Gill. Amber had posted a lovely message about her husband after he performed for the first time.

Posting snaps of Chris and Nadiya during their first dance, she captioned the post: ‘Proud forever.

Facing competitors who have been dancing for years, especially when you’re brand new to even the most basic steps, and then being thrown into the deep end by opening the season with a particularly challenging dance… it’s a tough situation.

They really put you to the test! You and @nadiyabychkova completely impressed both me and the audience. There are definitely things to learn for next week, but your performance was truly amazing.

I was completely falling apart. We’re sending all our love to @chrisrobshawrugby. Go #SeeQuins! Let’s GOOOOOO!

Amber shared a thought: ‘I know this might be controversial, but I feel like it’s unfair when dancers have a lot of prior experience.’

Camilla then replied: ‘The experience differences are absolutely wild. Definitely.’

Both Lewis and Amber have received criticism from the audience, but surprisingly, neither of them have any prior experience in ballroom or Latin dance training.

Chris once playfully suggested he ‘wants people to believe he’s fallen victim to the Strictly curse,’ even though he’s happily married. He believes this would generate buzz and keep fans discussing his time on the show.

The ex-England rugby captain shared with The Sun: “If people suspect there’s a connection between us, we must be doing something well, right?

‘Nadiya and I are a team, both totally focused on the dancing and giving it our all week by week.’

Sharing his feelings about the importance of family, he continued: ‘Camilla and I have a strong relationship, she’s wonderfully supportive, and we deeply trust each other in our marriage.’

I was so charmed to see Instagram lit up on Sunday with a lovely video! It featured Nadiya putting rugby star Chris Robshaw through a workout, alongside his wife Camilla and their adorable sons. It was such a sweet and relatable glimpse into their family life and fitness routine – a really feel-good moment!

The BBC professional dancer was spotted getting to know her new dance partner and his family while they got ready for their debut performance on the show.

In the video, Nadiya was shown cradling Chris’s 13-month-old son, Hunter, gently swaying back and forth. Chris responded by mirroring the movements while holding his four-year-old, Wilding.

Nadiya then facilitated a group practice session, with Camilla, 37, among the participants, as they learned the fundamentals of both salsa and the Charleston.

Camilla and Nadiya then shared a private moment, practicing a simple two-step dance while holding each other’s arms.

Along with the video, the opera singer wrote: ‘A huge thank you to @madiyabychkova for teaching my family some Charleston and salsa moves! Looking forward to our next lesson!

This moment might mark the beginning of a friendship between Camilla and Nadiya, as Camilla expressed her desire to connect with Chris’s Strictly Come Dancing partner. She hoped this would help them avoid the well-known “Strictly curse”.

Opera singer Camilla, who has been married to Chris since 2018, has reportedly already had Nadiya over for dinner as she hopes to become friends with her.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m hearing that this singer is genuinely one of the girls, and she’s really hoping to sidestep any situation where she and her professional dancer partner are made to compete against each other. It’s all about fostering a supportive environment, and she’s very conscious of that. She doesn’t want any unnecessary drama or rivalry – just good vibes and a focus on the work!

‘She’s always been very vocal about women supporting each other and has already invited Chris’ partner over for dinner,’ a source told The Sun.

She’s hoping to forge a friendship with someone outside of the show, hoping it will put an end to the rumors surrounding the curse.

Chris’s partner is completely supportive; they share similar values and want to ensure they function as a close team – instead of Camilla feeling excluded.

The source added that Chris thinks both women will form a bond and he will end up a ‘third wheel’.

Chris almost didn’t participate in the show because his family was being stalked. However, he and his partner explained that they wouldn’t allow the stalking to prevent them from enjoying the experience and moving forward with the journey.

She used her social media to let her fans know what’s been happening, saying they’ve been ‘focusing on family’ and won’t allow recent events to ‘define’ who they are.

In a post on Instagram, Camilla shared: ‘Hi everyone, I just want to express my sincere gratitude for all of your lovely words and messages this week.’

Both Chris and I really appreciate how carefully and respectfully the press dealt with a challenging situation. We are very thankful for their sensitivity.

For me, this situation has really meant I can prioritize what matters most: keeping my little family safe and sound. I’ve been completely blown away by all the kindness people have shown us – it’s been truly overwhelming. We’re so grateful for everyone’s support, and it’s given us the space to focus on what’s important. I can’t thank everyone enough.

We’ve decided to look ahead and move forward from this. This experience won’t define us; instead, we’re choosing to focus on our family and the exciting adventure with Strictly!

‘I don’t know about you, but I’m very ready for the sequins and spray tans to take centre stage.

‘Let’s hope it’s more snake hips and not hip replacement for our boy!

If you happen to see us having fun on social media, please remember that even though we’re working hard behind the scenes, we also want to share the happiness, fun, and excitement of SCD with all of you. Strictly is what’s making us happy at the moment, and we’re really enjoying it. We’re fully embracing this positive experience.

We are deeply grateful for your incredible support and the overwhelming love you’ve shown us. We truly appreciate you lifting our spirits! Let the fun and sparkle begin – bring on the sequins!

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 6:20pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
