Fans won’t have to wait much longer for Bridgerton to come back – Netflix has finally hinted at when season 4 will be released.

The streaming service recently announced when fans can expect the next season of the historical romance. This fourth part of the series will center around the story of Benedict Bridgerton and Sophie Baek, portrayed by Luke Thompson and Yerin Ha, respectively.

Netflix revealed that season 4 of Bridgerton is coming sometime next year, and promises some unexpected twists for viewers as a new love story unfolds.

The news featured a photo of Ha’s Sophie wearing a sparkling, crystal-covered gown and playfully concealing a mask behind her back.

We’re still not sure if the next season of Bridgerton will arrive in the spring or summer – it depends on when past seasons were released. But we do know now that fans won’t have to wait a very long time to watch it!

In 2024, the third season of the show was released in two volumes, focusing on the developing romantic relationship between Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton).

As the new season approaches, Bridgerton is now halfway through its planned storyline, as hinted at by executive producer Shonda Rhimes last month.

During an appearance at the Edinburgh TV Festival in August, Rhimes discussed the anticipated length – in terms of seasons – of the popular historical drama.

She said she planned to make “exactly eight” seasons in total (via The Independent).

The Bridgerton series focuses on eight siblings. Violet Bridgerton and each of her eight children will find love. Therefore, each season will tell the story of one child, explained Rhimes. She also mentioned there’s “a possibility for spin-offs”.

The show draws inspiration from a collection of books written by Julia Quinn. These novels center around the Bridgerton family – the siblings and their mother, Violet – as they try to find love and status within London’s high society during the Regency period, which generally spans from 1811 to 1820. The stories follow their journeys through the competitive marriage market of the time.

Bridgerton seasons 1-3 are streaming on Netflix, along with Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.
