Liam Gallagher skips Oasis wrap party to ‘rest his voice’ – and conveniently avoids Lily Allen…who revealed their mile high tryst while he was married to Nicole Appleton

Liam Gallagher steered clear of a potentially awkward encounter with his ex-girlfriend, Lily Allen, on Saturday night. He chose to skip the wrap party celebrating the UK portion of the Oasis reunion tour, opting instead for a relaxed evening at home with his current girlfriend.

Following the successful conclusion of their highly profitable reunion tour’s last UK concert, Noel Gallagher, his brother, hosted a gathering of well-known friends and family at Chiltern Firehouse.

Just a few hours before, the band members, back together again, finished their performance with Champagne Supernova, the final of 23 songs. They played to a huge crowd at Wembley Stadium and left the stage, hinting at more concerts in the UK next year.

However, Liam was noticeably missing as Noel departed the north London location with his girlfriend, Sally Mash, and headed to the famous Firehouse in Marylebone for a late-night celebration. The party included well-known figures like Matt Smith, Lily James, Poppy Delevingne, and the musician’s longtime friend, Lily Allen.

Elsewhere, Liam kept things low-key and celebrated with his partner, Debbie Gwyther, because he needed to rest his voice before the band’s tour of North America.

It seemed quite lucky, considering Liam Gallagher’s eventful past with Allen, who famously wrote in her 2018 autobiography, My Thoughts Exactly, about a romantic encounter with the singer on a flight to Tokyo. At the same time, her ongoing friendship with Noel also seems playfully flirtatious, though not as physically close.

The singer first encountered the musician when she was only 10 years old. This happened at Supernova Heights, his famous home in Belsize Park that he shared with his first wife, Meg Matthews, during the mid-1990s.

Their connection would naturally stem from being in the same circles, as Lily’s father, comedian Keith Allen, often visited Noel’s famously wild home – a Georgian terraced house named after one of Noel’s popular songs.

I’ve known Lil ever since she was a child,” Noel remembered in a 2009 blog post. “Her father used to bring her to my place at Supernova Heights back in the ’90s.

‘A good kid. Works hard, plays hard.’

It was clear how close they were in 2012 when the musician shared that he’d previously attempted, unsuccessfully, to get her involved in a concert benefiting the Teenage Cancer Trust, alongside the iconic thrash metal band Metallica.

He shared with NME: ‘I really wanted to get Metallica involved – I’m quite friendly with their drummer. We also asked Lily Allen, but then she became pregnant. I was really annoyed about that!’

The next year, Lily and Noel’s fun and flirty connection was evident when they ran into each other at the Arts Club, during an after-party hosted by Sony following the BRIT Awards.

The singer, who was 27 at the time, was photographed trying to kiss someone on the cheek while socializing with other attendees at the event in central London.

Later that year, they met at the Ivor Novello Awards, held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, and acted as if they had known each other for years, warmly greeting each other on the red carpet.

Around five years later, Noel was there for Lily when her fourth studio album, No Shame, didn’t win the highly respected Mercury Music Prize. He offered her support during that time.

After Wolf Alice won the Best Album award at the Eventim Apollo, Lily was visibly moved. The two were then seen backstage, walking arm-in-arm after their reunion.

Interestingly, the get-together happened only a few weeks after her autobiography was released, and following scandalous claims about an affair with his younger brother during his marriage to Nicole Appleton, the singer from All Saints.

One part of the book reads, ‘We drank heavily on the plane.’ It continues, ‘Liam and I ended up in the bathroom together, doing something inappropriate – and it wasn’t related to drugs. After that, we both lay down in a bed together.’

After we arrived in Tokyo, Liam, with his unique and slightly nasal voice, asked, ‘What are you up to now? Why don’t you come back to our hotel?‘… I just responded with, ‘Yeah, okay.‘

She explained that it didn’t dawn on her until the following day, when he said something along the lines of, ‘This can’t get out because of Nic,’ and that’s when she realized he was married.

I was aware that Noel was married, and I also knew Liam had previously been married to Patsy Kensit. This knowledge was part of the reason I was attracted to him.

Even though there was some drama – Liam and Nicole divorced a few years before Nicole’s life story came out – Lily shared what she thought about the reunion tour in July 2024, not long after it was made public.

‘I don’t believe there’s been a similar level of excitement for any band since Oasis,’ she explained to Miquita Oliver on their Miss Me? podcast. ‘People were absolutely heartbroken when the band announced they were splitting up.’

Even huge groups like Take That or The Spice Girls… they reunited, but it didn’t generate the same level of excitement, really.

Noel and Liam Gallagher are getting ready for a month-long vacation following the successful completion of the UK portion of their profitable Live ’25 tour, which finished at Wembley Stadium.

The tour will continue in South Korea with the band’s first performance in the Far East, beginning at Goyang Stadium on October 21.
