Dan Reilly and Dani Wales, stars of the show *The Block*, are heartbroken after a painting honoring their late daughter was stolen from a gallery in Melbourne on Sunday.
The reality TV couple experienced the heartbreaking loss of their baby, Billie, who passed away just ten days after being born last December.
Artist Kerry Armstrong painted a piece estimated to be worth $23,000 to benefit the neonatal unit at Women’s Hospital.
As a lifestyle expert, I was truly saddened to hear about the recent break-in at Armstrong’s gallery in Cheltenham. Channel Nine covered the story on Sunday, and the CCTV footage they shared showed thieves actually taking six paintings right off the walls – it’s just a heartbreaking situation for any art lover and the gallery owner.
A thief was caught on camera stealing Billie’s painting, ‘I Am Love,’ and throwing it onto a truck.
Dani, visibly moved, told Nine News that someone went above and beyond to do something special for their daughter, recognizing the positive effect it had on her.
‘It’s just heartless, Kerry put her everything into this artwork for Billie and us,’ added Dan.
Armstrong is now offering a reward for Billie’s painting.
On Sunday, Dani and Dan told their followers that paintings worth $80,000 had been stolen in a heist.
The couple announced on Instagram that all the money from the sale of this item would be donated to the Newborn Intensive Care Unit, making it a particularly meaningful piece.
Although the artwork is insured and the donation will continue as planned, it doesn’t replace the artwork itself or the deep significance it had for us.
Posting that the news of the loss was ‘unthinkable’, Dani added: ‘I honestly have no words.
It was supposed to go to someone who would cherish it, but now its fate is uncertain.
Kerry Armstrong is offering a reward for anyone who can help find the missing artwork. If you see it online or anywhere else, please contact the police immediately.

One person commented on the beautiful painting, expressing hope it would be found, while another shared their sadness and disappointment, and said they were praying for its safe return.
A third follower added, ‘So, so sorry.’
Dan and Danni first revealed the artwork dedicated to their daughter in April.
The painting was sold to benefit Billie’s Besties Fund, which provides support to families in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at the Women’s Hospital.
Beginning in December, this couple has already raised more than $35,000 to help families with babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, in memory of their child, Billie.
The artist explained that she started creating the artwork after learning about the sad story of Dan and Dani.
Armstrong explained that the feelings and connection she had with her subjects beautifully translated onto the canvas. She felt inspired to write a poem about each piece, and she personally handwritten it on the back as a lasting addition.

They shared a photo of themselves hugging next to their daughter’s hospital bed.
Dani expressed her overwhelming sadness, saying she and Dan feel incredibly lucky and proud to have been Billie’s parents.
It breaks my heart to share the incredibly sad news about Billie Vera Reilly, who was born on August 12th, 2024, and passed away just ten days later on December 18th, 2024. As a follower of the family, I can only imagine their devastating grief at losing their precious daughter so soon. My thoughts are with them during this unimaginable time.
Even though her life was brief, Billie showed us a depth of love and pain we hadn’t imagined. She reminded us of what’s truly important.
Billie brought so much joy to our lives, and we feel incredibly lucky to be her parents. It’s a true honor to be her mum and dad, and she will forever be our cherished daughter.
Billie was a truly exceptional person, and while her loss is deeply felt, her influence will undoubtedly extend far beyond our own lives.

Dan and Dani revealed they were expecting a baby in an Instagram post back in July.
The couple first hit national attention when they appeared on the 2012 series of The Block.
The pair, who were dating at the time, took out second place honours and a profit of $448,000.
They competed again on The Block in 2013 as All Stars, finishing third and earning a $220,000 profit.
Dan now works as a foreman on the show and also co-hosts “Dan vs. Dani,” where he and Dani review each team’s finished room every week.
The couple tied the knot in 2018 in an intimate ceremony on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula.
