Fans heavily criticized Justin Bieber online after his former girlfriend, Selena Gomez, got married to Benny Blanco this weekend.

The singer, 31, shared photos and videos from his basketball game at The League in Los Angeles on Saturday. This came shortly after his mother posted a concerning message asking fans to pray for him.

The singer is married to Hailey and they have a one-year-old son named Jack. Before marrying Hailey, he had an on-again, off-again relationship with Selena for eight years.

The actress, who previously starred on Disney Channel, married Benny in a beautiful, private ceremony in Santa Barbara. Taylor Swift was among the many famous faces who attended the wedding.

People were constantly saying the singer from Wolves had gotten married. One person even wrote, ‘the love of your life got married,’ seemingly referring to his former girlfriend.

Someone commented, “We know you’re going through a tough time right now,” and another mentioned, “It’s hard to see his wife sharing so many pictures.”

One fan jokingly said they were there just to read the comments, while another predicted the conversation would be entertaining and grabbed ‘popcorn’ in anticipation.

One post featured Justin Bieber’s song “I Do” playing, a track he recently released that appears to be about his wife, Hailey.

People on Instagram noticed the song he shared was titled ‘I Do,’ with one user pointing out the timing was especially interesting since it was the day his ex-wife got married.

Another typed out, ‘Was waiting for the Justin Bieber post,’ followed by a laughing face emoji. 

Many people defended the singer, with one person pointing out, ‘He’s allowed to share what he wants on Instagram-that’s what the platform is for! Just a friendly reminder.’

One fan asked people to stop bothering him, and another pointed out that everyone should be focused on celebrating the wedding, not discussing it on his page, referring to Selena Gomez.

Justin and Selena were introduced by their managers in 2009. A year later, in 2010, they were seen on a date, leading to speculation about a romantic relationship.

It wasn’t long before their relationship was confirmed, and they began appearing together at events like the 2011 American Music Awards.

Justin and Selena ended their relationship in 2012, but they rekindled it in 2014.

The former couple continued to have an on-and-off again romance until their final split in 2018. 

Justin and Hailey got married that year, and they recently became parents to their first child, born in August of last year.

While Selena has known Benny for many years, she didn’t confirm their romance until late 2023.

While some thought the photos were from the wedding itself, they actually seem to be from the rehearsal dinner held Friday night. This took place at a large mansion on a 1,863-acre estate in the upscale Hope Ranch neighborhood of Goleta, located near the Santa Ynez Mountains.

Selena reportedly spent approximately $300,000 on security and safety over the weekend.

Just days before his wedding, Justin’s mother, Pattie, shared a post requesting prayers for her son, hinting at a concerning situation.

Sharing a collection of black and white photos, she wrote a supportive message to Justin, saying she and others are always rooting for him and keeping him in their prayers.

I speak freedom, strength, clarity, and healing into your life, Justin. May any fear, confusion, burden, or pain be gone, in Jesus’ name. Holy Spirit, please surround him with truth, light, and protection.

Oh, please, just *heal* him! Every single hurt, everything he’s going through, inside and out, please mend it all. Bring back everything that’s been taken from him, and just… make him *whole* again. I need to see him filled with so much love and comfort it just spills out of him. Please, just let him overflow with it.

Fans reacted to news of Selena Gomez’s wedding, with one commenting, “It’s just Selena getting married.” Another expressed frustration with people hoping for a reconciliation between Selena and Justin Bieber, saying, “It’s awkward that some people still want them together, especially since she’s getting married soon and Justin has a child with Hailey Bieber.”
